Chapter 10: History Repeats

Tim and I looked after each other. I protected Angela and Curly when someone nearly beat them. Tim would always look after my siblings as well. We got along alright. He's flirted with me and stuff but that's normal for me now. Tim would never replace Dally but he looks after and cares for me the same way Dally did. He would joke and tease me and the guys was jealous of him. The girls were jealous of me, or wanted to be me. They gave me death stares. I just shrugged it off.

Angela taught me a few fighting moves just in case they're not around. Curly always told me I was easy to talk to so we would chat for hours on end. I think Tim got jealous because of that. Not sure why though. Tim and I exchanged phone numbers. We would call nearly every night. History repeats, doesn't it?

I felt something for him. It was so familiar, yet, new. I grew feelings for this man that had saved me a few months before. His family was good to me. He was too. It reminded me too much of Dally. It hurt but I couldn't let go. I was too far in to back out now. I couldn't let go. It hurt too much.

I loved this man but I couldn't ever tell him that. He always gave death glares at guys he didn't trust that would come up and talk to me. Everyone, except Steve, Sodapop, Ponyboy, Two-Bit, and Marcia. Aaron and him both were overprotective of me. Too overprotective. I had been 17 for a few months now as well.

Ponyboy eventually told me that Tim and Dally were actually best buds. I figured as much.

I always thought about Tim now.

Pony told me also that History does have a tendency to repeat. I figured that as well. The kid taught me a lot of new stuff. I would try my hardest to help Darry out and he appreciated it. I helped Steve and Soda at the gas station at times as well. They appreciated the help a whole bunch. I tutored Curly and Angela in, well, everything. All the subjects, including Math, History, English, Art, Science, computer, etc. They never showed their appreciation but I'm sure they had it.

History repeats, I thought. True enough.
