Ryder tapped her red converse on the concrete. Ever since Sonja had said... That... She was the only thing on her mind. Her hair, her smile, her freckles, her eyes, her sense of humor. Everything she did, every step and move she made made Ryder's inside's flutter and squirm with insecure pleasuere. And it was that day again, another walk with Sonja, another few laughs, another quick goodbye, another happy dream. She checked her watch, she seemed to be late again, but Ryder could wait.

" Hey, can I talk with you?" Ryder's eyes flicked up to see a girl.

She had Raven-like hair, with a streak of blood red. She looked amazingly tidy, with a crease-less uniform and a perfectly tied red bow. She was very short for her age, ( about 3 months older then Ryder) which made her glasses look far to big for her face. She was her friend, good enough a friend to keep the secret of Ryder's crush. She could angry pretty easy, but this time she seemed so enraged she would burst.

"Yeah, what's up Umi?" Ryder asked.

Umi started fidgeting with her bow, then dusting her spotless uniform. With a deep sigh, Umi turned back.

"Today, in math, URH! Okay, I saw these FUCKING IDIOTS and they- URRGGGG"

"What is it Umi? Jesus I haven't seen you so angry in ages."

"Well, I saw Emma and Jessica being asshats again."

Emma and Jessica were considered the biggest, whitest, shallowest girls in all of their school. They would gossip, bitch, and were completely convinced they'd work for Forever-21 for their first job, TOGETHER. But their parent's were so rich, they would probably buy Forever -21 just to keep them together. Only Emma and Jessica were worthy of the rage Umi was having now. So, prepared for some major bullshit, Ryder stood straight up, instead of leaning, on the brick wall.

"Spit it out, man."

"They were passing around this sheet of paper, and, I got it as well, and."

Umi grasped a lock of her hair.

"It was a sheet, asking people whether they thought Sonja was gay or not. There were like, a BUNCH of marks in the yes column and, UGH! Then Sonja saw it, she looked like she was about to cry, and URG! I HATE THEM!"

Umi began ranting on how evil the class was, and how rude it was to just assume someone's sexuality, but Ryder wasn't paying attention. Why would anyone do that? Were they just that desperate for drama. Were they that stupid? How could they? How was Sonja feeling? Maybe that was why she was late, maybe she didn't want to seem gay by walking to the train with her?

"If those assholes want something to gossip about, I'll break their fucking faces, and they can gossip about how much blood they've lost!" Ryder interrupted.

"Dude, can I help you? Ugh I hate them so much, I feel so bad for Sonja!"

" I've gotta find her and talk to her. Thanks for telling me, Umi."

" Tell her to feel better for me!" Umi shouted to Ryder, now racing down the sidewalk, and towards the train station.
