"What's on your mind, evening?" Brin asks. We're laying with each other in his room, mostly in silence. We do this at least once a week, as a way to decompress from everything that we have going on. With both academic and athletic pressure, it can be kinda hard for us to get time just us, so it's nice to have these moments.
"Nothing much, love. Oh, I hope it's okay, I invited Flo, Clara and Lyla to the party we're going to tonight. Figured it was a much needed break from their usual band of misfits." I look up at him smiling.
"Hey- last time I checked, I'm a misfit! And I think you like me okay. But I get it, and that's totally cool." He kisses the top of my forehead.
"Perfect. It's gonna be fun tonight, I'm excited." I glance at my phone, to see it's almost 8. "I'm gonna head back to my dorm to eat a quick snack and get stuff ready for the girls to come over tonight. I'll see you there?" I say, getting up to leave.
"It'll be great. I'm glad that you and Flo are becoming better friends."
"Yeah, me too. She's really great. I'll see you tonight, I love you." I snag a quick kiss and leave for my dorm.
"Honey, I'm home!" I yell as I get back to Sasha and I's dorm.
"Lover you're back! Gone too long, I do declare!" Sasha screams back, in a half southern accent, half fake cry type of voice.
"I apologize, my dear Sashabelle!" I say in the same exasperated southern accent she gave to me. "So, what are we thinking for tonight?"
"Well, first, drinks!" I hear from the door. It's Natalie, coming in with two bottles of god knows what.
"Natty light what have you brought us today?" Sasha says, getting up and going to hold one of the mystery bottles Nat has.
"Some custom made jungle juice Ly and I concocted. I heard she's coming with us tonight- good job Ev!"
"Yeah! I invited her, Flo and Clara. Thought it'd be fun!"
"It'll be great! Remember last time we got together with them? Pretty sure Lyla and I flashed the entire admin office." Sasha laughs "God I love that girl. When are they coming over?"
"In about two hours. We should probably save all of this," I point to the bottles, "for when they get here. Probably should keep the urge to flash off until the actual party." I snicker. "Group nap?"
"Group nap." Sasha and Natalie respond, and all three of us pile into bed.
I wake up to faint, "Evie?", accompanied by a knock on the door.
"Sash, Nat, time to get up. They're here." I walk to the door and open it, to see the three girls, all with bags of clothes and makeup. "Welcome, welcome! Sorry, we were napping, or else I would've opened the door sooner!"
"It's all good. We brought snacks!" Lyla says, smiling.
"Oh perfect, come right in!" Sasha says, basically barreling through me to get to the snack bag.
Very quickly, the mood changes from the sleepy and drowsy mood of a few hours ago, to a very energetic and excited one.
"Okay so I'm not sure whether to go little black dress, or little white one. It's like, do I want to be an angel, or a devil?" Nat says, holding the two dresses on her body by the mirror.
"Well, either way, you're my angel." I say, blowing her a kiss.
"Not like anything you'll be doing tonight will be angelic." Sasha snorts, which receives a pillow to the face from Nat. "Oh you bitch!" Sasha screams, and throws one back, but accidentally hits Clara.
