"So how have you been?" He began, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly as we walked.

How have I been? My work was slacking in College because of how I missed him so much. He''d made me afraid to go back to my own hometown and even my own family. My life was destroyed because of him. "Okay." I agreed on. "And you?"

"Eh... You know. Same old, same old Omaha." He shrugged, clutching his dark green work apron in his left hand.

I nodded and there was an awkward silence before I spoke up. "I still don't get this." I cut to the chase. "Why did you pretend to not recognise me?"

"I, uh- I don't know... I'm sorry."

"Okay..." I trailed off awkwardly.

"Because..." He began sighing. "It was hard seeing you. We'd been apart for so long that it physically hurt my insides. I was trying to forget you and then you just walked in looking beau-" He stopped. "You just walked in." He corrected himself before coughing awkwardly.

"Oh.. Sorry." I looked down at my almost frozen hands.

"Don't apologise. I've been looking for you all day, and when you passed the cafe I had to run out and call after you."

"Why?"

He was silent for a few seconds. "Just wanted to see you, I guess." He shrugged.

"You guess? Oh... Okay then." I looked down.

"No! Not like that. I missed you, I still do miss you."

I was speechless for a few seconds and even though I was happy, it didn't come across that way.

"Wow." Jack laughed to himself. "God I'm too embarrassing to even.."

"No." I shook my head at how wrong he was but he just kept carrying on.

"I just said that out loud... And to you!" He kept shaking his head before I took his hand.

"It's okay." I whispered. "I missed you too." I smiled slightly before pulling him into a hug.

Approximately fifteen minutes later I found myself at Jack's apartment. It was a small two bedroom place with an average kitchen and living area, with several take-away boxes dotted around the landscape.

"It's not much... But it's home for a year." Jack smiled goofily, he went to the college in Omaha.

"No. I like it." I smiled, placing my bag on the kitchen counter. "I think your work break's over by now." I said laughing.

Jack shrugged, throwing his jacket down. "They can fire me if they want."

I weaved my way round the apartment and took a seat on his couch.

Jack cleared his throat. "Do you uh.. Want a drink or anything?"

"Hm?" My head shot up. "Oh, uh... Yeah, sure." I nodded quickly as he silently handed me a can of beer.

"Here,"

"Thanks." I shyly took it from him and popped it open.

Mine and Jack's talk started to increase intense as we drank more and more. We talked about love, music, food, movies. Everything random. We talked as if we'd known each other our whole lives even though we hadn't seen each other in a year. Still, we were getting drunk.

"Hey, have you got anything stronger?" I laughed slightly, holding up my can.

"Vodka?" Jack smirked, lifting up a vodka bottle and raising an eyebrow.

"Fuck, yes."

He poured us shot glasses and we continued to giggle as we downed several shots. My eyes watered, my throat burned, but I was having the time of my life.

"Dance with me." Jack held out a hand which I gladly took.

"With what music?" I giggled drunkly, as he spun me into his arms.

"The music in our imaginations." He stated, causing us both to giggle non-stop.

We began to dance on the spot, not moving far from where we were put. We spun, we side-stepped until I stepped weirdly on my ankle, causing me to trip and knock Jack off his balance, falling on top of him. We laughed hard for a good minute before I found myself almost directly on top of him, my breath mixing with his. It was that moment when we simultaneously leaned in, and began kissing passionately.

A/N: Sooo, there's another chapter up as you requested ((: Anyway, as I've noticed I have quite a few people reading my stories. (Much more on the prequel to this fanfic, I know, however hopefully those readers will move onto this one!) I also understand that my readers are probably different nationalities, British, possibly American and perhaps even European, possibly even further? I have no idea, but as a fact I am British so the type of grammar I use is perhaps a little different to those of other nationalities. Because of this, I try my best to use American terms as it's generally much easier for everyone, however sometimes I do forget and I'll say something that's more British slang or whatever. So if that's the case, or I say something that you don't quite understand, just comment on the chapter or something and I'll reply with the definition (: Keep reading!
