Saanvi walked nervously; the noise of the crowd, trumpets, flower decorations all around, overwhelming her senses.

Her father placed his hands on her head affectionately "If only your mother could see you and Vijay together now, she would have been ecstatic."

She sat next to the bride groom with her sight blurred with tears. Her heart beating like it was in a race, as the pandit told the groom to tie the mangal sutra. As the groom's hand reached towards the mangal sutra, her eyes opened wide as she recognised the owner of the hands. Only one guy could have such ridiculously long fingers - Vikram.

With a shock, she turned to see Vikram sitting next to her in groom's dress. He winked at her. Even before she could smile, she saw blood dripping from his forehead. Before she could even scream, a sharp ringing sound rang.

She woke up with a start in her bed, to the sound of her alarm.

Outside her room, she heard her father's voice shouting on the phone "Yes yes. We will be there in the temple on time. Don't worry."

She remembered why she had the dream now. She was getting married in a couple of hours. Even now her heart and mind seemed to be playing games with her, by throwing her repressed thoughts in form of a dream. Part of her wanted to call Vikram and ask him to take her away, then reality set in as she remembered Shrushti and her ring.

Disheartened she got dressed, not even noticing that Nidhi was missing till the time they had to depart. Nidhi had left early in the morning, leaving her a message that she will come directly to the temple.

Saanvi cursed her luck. Now she had no one here other than that obnoxious family of Vijay's. Oddly though Vishakha was trying to maintain a cordial attitude towards her though her impatience began to show in a little while, when Nidhi did not turn up.

Vishakha started grumbling to her parents "Why is this family like this? The girl ran off before the engagement, her sister disappeared before the wedding. And my brother left his golden opportunity abroad, for this."

"Shut up, Bitch." An angry voice said. Vishakha turned to see the furious face of Nidhi, along with Dhruv.

She threw a file on Vishakha's face while rebuking her "Your brother did not leave his job for my sister. If you use that emotional black mail on my sister again, I will slap you royally."

Vishakha turned red, while Shiv was flabbergasted.

He shouted at Nidhi "Hold your tongue, Nidhi. Vijay left everything and came down to India only to be with your sister. And now you are insulting him. Apologize to them right away."

Dhruv stepped in "Uncle, they made a fool of us. Nidhi called me the day you fixed the engagement, asking me to do a background check on Vijay and his family. So, I got a private detective hired through a friend in Malaysia."

Nidhi explained to her father "The file has all the details of their wrong doings. Prakash uncle had made up a fake consultancy which promised to get people jobs in Malaysia and Vijay was helping to siphon the money from his organization, via this fake consultancy. When his company started investigating him, he realised knew that he had to get out of there, before they could unearth all evidence and book him in a case. That's why he landed up here without any prior notice."

Vijay's face lost all colour and turned ashen white.

Prakash being the shrewder one, argued "Shiv, that doesn't make any sense. Vijay had proposed to Saanvi long ago, so this is cra..."

Dhruv interrupted him "Sir, Vijay's proposal to Saanvi was your idea. It started couple of years ago when Shiv uncle approached your brother for help finding a good lawyer as his wife's property was stuck in a litigation from long. When you heard about this property and discussed with your lawyer, you realised that once this property issue was resolved, it would mean that Saanvi was going to get a huge inheritance. You planned to emotionally black mail Saanvi into selling her property share, so that Vijay could start a business here. Then you would have taken over all the money and thrown her out."
