Imagine having a picnic date with Edward

It was a nice sunny day out. (Y/n) packed a basket full of sandwiches, different fruit and berries and some cupcakes she made herself. She also put a few different drink options in there along with a cute blanket. Once she had everything she needed, she walked out of her house. She walked along the sidewalk and greeted the neighbors that passed her with a smile. One of them asked where she was going and the woman replied something along the lines of her going to a little picnic by herself to read a book. She lied, she was going to a picnic, but not alone. Then they continued on their separate ways.

(Y/n) stopped at the end of the neighborhood and turned to see if somebody was around. She saw nobody and slipped through the rusty, vine covered gates. She continued to make her way to the top where the old invertor's mansion was. As she walked she hummed the tunes of her favorite songs.

Once she got to the top, her legs were killing her. She had forgotten how long the road to here was, but she knew it was all worth it. A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she continued walking. She slipped past the other old and rusted gate and walked through the beautiful garden. As she walked between the plants, she admired the works of her beloved. The woman approached the large front door. She knocked twice before opening the door and walking in.

"Edward?! (Y/n) here!" She shouted with a smile on her face.

She heard quick footsteps echo around the large house. She waited patiently for him to arrive. The woman hummed another tune and bobbed her head lightly along with the beat. It didn't take long for her to see Edward come down the last flight of stairs. She couldn't help but smile. He was so adorable with his messy black hair and chocolate brown puppy eyes that lit up once he saw her. He carefully ran over to her and smiled (Y/n) at him.

"Hi (Y/n)," He said with a sheepish smile.

"Hi Edward," The woman replied with a light giggle.

"What's the basket for?" Edward asked and pointed to it with one of his fingers.

A light hearted chuckle escaped her lips. She linked her arm with his and slowly started walking towards the door.

"It's for the picnic, silly. Did you forget when I told you yesterday?" (Y/n) replied with a playful tone.

Edward blushed as he whispered a small 'oh'. Once the duo were at the door, (Y/n) opened it and let Edward go first, then she followed after him. They searched for a nice spot in the garden together. The woman set down the basket and dug out the blanket. She laid it on the ground and proceeded to move the basket on top of it. Then she sat down herself. With a little struggle and help from (Y/n), Edward sat down too.

"Perfect!" (Y/n) beamed.

She excitedly started to take out all the foods and put them on cute plates and bowls. The sight made Edward smile. He thought that she was so adorable when she got excited or really into something she made small noises and gestures that indicated her mood. He wanted to help but he really couldn't and (Y/n) reassured him that it was fine.

"Done!" The woman exclaimed and clasped her hands together.

"Oh wow... I don't know where to start.." The timid man mumbled.

(Y/n) let out a giggle and grabbed a sandwich from one of the plates. She suggested he start with some of the chopped up fruit pieces. He nodded and stuck his finger in the bowl, taking a few pieces of different fruit. As they ate, they talked about their days. (Y/n) did most of the talking but it was fine, they liked it that way. Edward loved listening to her voice and she loved talking to him.

Some time later, they moved onto the desserts. (Y/n) got onto her knees and reached over to the plate of cupcakes. She grabbed one and sat on top of her legs. She smiled as she turned to face Edward. He looked at her, a little confused. She took the paper wrapper off of it.

"I want to feed it to you, so open your mouth, please," The woman said.

Edward nodded and opened his mouth. She wasn't really sure how to do it but she was determined to feed him a cupcake. She brought the pastry to his mouth and told him to bite down. He did as told and bit a piece off of it. As he did so, he ended up getting some pink frosting on his nose. Once (Y/n) noticed it, she giggled at the adorable sight. The man gave her a quizzical look. She reached over and swiped the bit of frosting off of his nose. He chuckled when he realized what had happened.

"How was it?" (Y/n) asked. "Do you like it?"

The man nodded happily. With stars in his eyes he smiled.

"I love it..! It tasted delicious," He replied cheerfully.

The woman let a small sigh of relief escape her lips. She offered him another bite and he happily ate the whole thing. (Y/n) smiled and chuckled lightly.

"That's good..! It's (f/f), my favorite flavor, so I was hoping you'd like it as well," She said with a bright smile on her face.

Edward smiled at her warmly. The couple shared a light hearted laugh and ate the rest of the cupcakes. After they were finished, the woman put the dishes away and they laid down next to each other on the soft blanket and looked at the darkened sky and fluffy white clouds. They spent more time talking until it was almost night time.

(Y/n) sighed loudly and turned to face Edward. The man noticed and turned to her. She gazed into his adorable chocolate brown eyes. She reached up and gently rubbed his pale, scarred cheek. He leaned into her touch. A small smile spread onto the woman's lips.

"Oh Edward... I want to spend the rest of my days with you.." She whispered.

The man's eyes widened a little. He blushed and smiled.

"O-oh..? I'd like that too.." He whispered back shyly.

The woman felt butterflies in her stomach. She blushed and let out a small nervous giggle.

"I'm glad you feel that way... Would it be alright if I kissed you?" She mumbled, feeling a little embarrassed.

Edward nodded eagerly. The woman nodded and propped her upper body up. She scooted closer to him. She closed her eyes and gently pressed their lips against each other. The kiss was long and loving. Unfortunately she had to pull away for air too soon for their liking. Suddenly, Edward leaned up to press another, a much quicker, kiss on her lips. It caught her a little off guard and made her chuckle a little. When the timid man pulled away, he looked at her apologetically.

"I'm sorry.." He mumbled, about to go on but (Y/n) cut him off.

"It's okay Edward, you don't have to apologize for kisses. I like kisses, especially the ones from you!" She replied playfully.

The man nodded and flashed her a small smile. (Y/n) sighed again as she had to leave again. She reached up and ruffled his already messy black hair. She earned a small giggle from the man as a response.

"Alright Edward.. I have to go home now," She sighed with a heavy heart. "But I'll be back tomorrow," She quickly added.

Edward looked up into her (e/c) eyes with a saddened look. He looked like an abandoned puppy. It made the woman's heart shatter. She gently grabbed both of his cheeks and playfully squished his face. She rested her forehead against his.

"Don't look at me like that..!" She giggled.

She nuzzled their noses together before pulling away from him. Hearing him giggle more made her heart absolutely melt. Then she helped him stand up with some struggle. (Y/n) squatted down and picked up the blanket. She brushed off some of the grass and put it back into the basket. She sighed and glanced up into his eyes again.

"Thank you for the date, lovely.." She said with a smile.

"You're welcome.." Edward replied.

"I'll see you tomorrow, same time,"

Edward nodded in response. (Y/n) quickly got on her tiptoes and gave his pale cheek a quick peck. She flashed him a bright smile.

"Good night Edward, I love you," She said before turning to walk back to town.

"Good night (Y/n).. I love you too..!" Edward shouted after her as he gave her a small wave.
