Imagine you have a nightmare and Glen comforts you after you wake up

Quiet whimpers and sobbs filled the room. A young girl twists and turns in bed as tears build up in her closed eyes. Her eyes shot wide open as she yelled a heartbreaking 'NO!'. Her body sprung up to sit in her bed. Her breathing was rabid and ragged as her heart pumped loudly in her ears. She clutched her chest tightly as she tried to calm her breath. She jumped out of surprise once she felt a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"(Y/n)? Are you okay?" She heard her loving boyfriend ask.

The girl turned to look at him with tears in her eyes. She was so glad to see him. She leaped forward and wrapped her arms around her in a tight hug. The boy didn't waste any time and wrapped his arms securely around her shivering body.

"O-oh Glen..! I had a terrible nightmare.." (Y/n) cried out.

"Oh no.. What happened?" He asked.

Just thinking about the nightmare made her shiver. It was terrible. It felt so real. She buried her face in his chest. The boy rested his chin on top of her head. He rubbed her back in comforting circles as he waited for her to reply.

"It was horrible.. I saw you die before my eyes..! I thought I lost you for real!" The girl told him.

The couple had been dating for two years. They had fallen in love with each other and cared deeply for one another. It was a weekend and they had a small date and Glen had come over to stay the night at (Y/n)'s house.

"That's horrible, (Y/n)... But it was only a dream. You don't have to worry about that," Glen tried his best to comfort her.

"I know that Glen, but it felt so real... I-I can still hear your desperate cries for help-" (Y/n) replied before breaking into tears.

The boy hugged her tighter, bringing her closer to his body. He ran his fingers through her (h/l) (h/c) hair before placing a gentle kiss on top of her head. After some time, the shivering girl was able to calm down enough. She pulled away from the hug and wiped some of the tears away. She looked down out of embarrassment. She hadn't cried this much in front of him before and never because of a nightmare.

(Y/n) jumped once she felt Glen's hand on her cheek. He lifted her head and made her look at him. He smiled down at her softly as he gazed into her watery (e/c) eyes. The look in his eyes was so soft and calming to the girl. He ran his thumb gently across her cheek, wiping the leftover tears off of her cheek. A faint blush spread to her cheeks before she pulled away from his gentle touch.

"I-I'm sorry Glen.." She mumbled, scratching her neck uncomfortably.

"You have nothing to be sorry for.. It's totally okay to be scared after a nightmare. But don't worry, I'm here to keep you safe..!" He said with a playful tone.

The girl turned her face away, letting a small smile spread onto her lips as a small chuckle came out of her. Glen let out a small, triumphant laugh.

"Don't try to hide that pretty smile of yours, I saw it!" He said with a cheeky grin on his face.

(Y/n) playfully hit his upper arm. He faked getting injured dramatically, earning another chuckle from the tired girl. Glen tackled her and they fell onto the bed together, trying to keep quiet to not wake up the girl's parents who were in the next room. The boy pulled (Y/n) close to him again. She snuggled against him and wrapped her arms around his body. She rested her head against his chest. A long sigh of content escaped her lips.

"Thank you Glen," The girl said with a smile. "You always know how to make me smile,"

"You're welcome, babe," He replied.

The girl leaned up and quickly kissed his jaw. She heard a soft chuckle from him. She felt a soft kiss on top of her head, making her giggle. She had totally forgotten about her nightmare. She was so glad to have Glen in her life.

"Good night, Glen," The girl whispered.

"Night, (Y/n). I love you," Glen replied.

"I love you too,"

She buried her face in his chest again. A comfortable silence fell upon the lovers. As (Y/n) started drifting off to sleep, she heard his soft snores. They were so cute and oddly comforting. The girl smiled before she fell asleep.
