Falling into the Undead
Prologue
This has been in the works for quite a while. It honestly stayed at two chapters for the longest time, a little wish of wanting it to be more, but honestly just a distraction from when I couldn't focus on Soul Marked.
I've got about six chapters currently finished and hope to keep it that way as I update. Which would be about every two weeks if I can keep a few chapters ahead. If I happen to double that number, then I'll change it to once a week. But this is what I'm shooting for at the moment.
I started this story because I like to think what-if. There were characters I wanted to live, and situations I wished I could have changed. So, I thought what if a character got thrust into the Walking Dead, and with her knowledge decided to do just that? Would it hurt the storyline, make everything worse, or could things possibly end for the better?
Before anyone can say anything about Merle, yes, I know, he's OOC. I wanted to keep him close to who he was, but there had to be something inside of him open to change, and so he's a bit different. If you don't like that then please continue to read or not, but I don't want to hear a lot of complaining about it. This is how I decided to write him for a reason. Don't worry he's still going to be an ass, but a much more likable ass.
But you see it's not me

With their tanks and their bombs
And their bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head

To say that The Walking Dead was her favorite show would be an understatement. She had followed every episode up to the middle of season seven when she had begun to miss them, and before she knew it, the show slipped by her. She heard things and ruined certain deaths for herself but hadn't sought it out in several years.
If you asked Remington whether she would want to be a part of the show, if it could somehow happen, six years ago she may have said yes. But now, with a four-year-old, there was no way she would drag her daughter into a mess like that, and she would never agree to leave her.
As it was fate hardly ever went by the safe choices you would make. Perhaps a part of her had hoped her daughter would be left behind with her parents, even if she couldn't see her, at least Remington knew that she would be safe. But maybe that's why fate had decided to drop them both into hell. Or it was some form of punishment. She wasn't sure but either way it hadn't mattered. Because they had been plunged into their new life. Stranded without a paddle up a creak of shit. Her only objective was keeping her daughter safe, them alive, as she didn't believe there was any way of getting back home.
So, Remington adapted, something she was good at doing.
