AU (I changed it a bit) - Shinobu is Giyuu's sister. Tanjiro is 26, 2 years younger than giyuu who is 28.

Kanao's POV:

I stare blankly at my katana. Tanjiro is all that I think about nowadays.

Does Tanjiro like Giyuu?

What does Tanjiro think of me?

Is Tanjiro gay?

Is Giyuu gay?

Are they dating?

Ah.. if only Tanjiro were here to answer these questions.

After minutes of thinking and deciding, I've come to the conclusion that Tanjiro and Giyuu have developed romantic feelings for each other. Hm... that really hit me.

I don't deny it, I do like Tanjiro. Not as a friend but as a.. partner in life. It was hard to accept at first, nonetheless. But I can't help it. But how do I make him like me? Also, as a partner in life.

Giyuu.

What did he see in Giyuu that is worth loving?

Giyuu's POV:

I looked around.

Hm, weird. I swore I could've sensed Kanao-

"Hey- Giyuu?"

I turn my focus back to Tanjiro, who was tugging on my sleeves slightly.

"You ok? You were- uh zoning out.."

I reach my hand out to pat his head.. but he jerk his head back.

"A-ah.. I'm sorry"

Tanjiro's POV:

I can't believe I did that.

I look back at giyuu, and to my surprise, he no longer had the blank face that he used to have.

It was scary.

I could see the hatred in his eyes.

"Hey giyuu I uh"

I tried to caress his soft cheeks.

But he turned away.

"O-oh I'm sorry."

I felt a huge sting in my heart.

Is he mad? Of course he is.. I- it's my fault.

"Mhm.. I have some, business to attend to. I'll see you later, Tanjiro."

Usually I'd get butterflies whenever giyuu calls my name.

But it was different this time.. it felt as cold as ice.

As sharp as a katana.

Piercing through my heart..
