Gregory's POV

"Gregory... you will have 2 days of detention, meaning you will stay with your study hall teacher until 4PM.  I will contact your parents to let them know what happened, as well as Evan's guardian."  The Principal told me.  I was surprised when I didn't have a bigger punishment than that.

"I-I thought I would get longer because-"

"Do not fret... I know what you were doing.  You were protecting your friend, from anymore harm. Evan is a poor soul who is countlessly abused by his peers everyday.  You being there makes for him makes his day better."  The Principal explained.  I was shocked, does Evan really think that?

"Well... I'm glad I'm friends with him than! He's really nice, even though he's kinda weird, but that's what I like about him!"  I say with a smile.  The principal chuckled a little, before coughing into his sleeve.

"That is all. You can go back to your 4th hour class. Also we have Evan's, and your things at the front desk.  Be sure to grab it would you?" I nodded, he gave me a note for being late, and Ileft his office. I went to the front desk, and grabbed our thing, and went to my fourth period.

As I walked through the empty halls to my class I thought about the fight, and what I felt.

'What am I feeling? It's like some... primal urge or whatever. The feeling of always wanting to be around him... maybe this means me and Evan are closer friends? Yeah that makes sense!' I thought... me and him are definitely going to be closer friends but...

Why am I so worried? Like something bad is going to happen? Why do I want to be so close to him, and...

Hold him?

I shook my head getting my head on a swivel. All this overthinking is making me tired. I wanted this wild day to be over already...

I then realized I needed to get to fourth period, and sure enough I was right next to the gymnasium. I opened it slowly, and saw all my peers staring at me, with either a confused look, disgusted, or a weird smile. I handed my note to the teacher before going into the locker to change.

I put his and my stuff in the locker, and changed into my gym clothes, as I then went back, and stood next to Evan.

"See... told ya I'll be fine..." I say with a sly smirk. Evan pouted a little his cheeks going a little pink. I chuckled at his reaction before asking him what we were doing.

He whispered in my ear saying we were going to do some training exercises... oh boy.

"That so doesn't seem like fun...". I say, even though I like some physical activity, training exercises make it so lame!  The teacher blew his whistle loudly.

"ALRIGHT YOU LITTLE MAGGOTS! GET INTO YOUR ASSIGNED GROUPS! GAY BOY, YOUR WITH THE AFTONS! NOW GET MOVING!" The loud gym teacher yelled at us.

'This is not going to be fun...'

No one's POV

They two boys were in study hall, finishing any homework the two had. Evan couldn't help, but take a few glances at the Amber eyed boy. He admired his looks, his courage, strength, his intelligence, and his will to never give up.

'I never would've thought, someone like me would ever meet someone who actually cares...' Evan smiled, a pink blush coming upon his cheeks.

'Maybe we can... be together?... No. He isn't gay, don't get your hopes up Evan... why would he like someone like me?' Evan thoughts grew darker.

'Someone who always cries, has to always be babied, can't do anything right, always have people clean up my messes...'  His eyes were staring to water a bit.  Gregory felt someone staring at him, he looked at Evan, and saw him staring at him with tears in his eyes.

"Hey Evan? You alright?" Gregory asked, which snapped Evan out of his stupor, he quickly wiped his eyes away, and nodded. Gregory didn't look that convinced however, but he let it slide. Evan wouldn't lie to him.

"RING! RING! RING! RI-" the bell rang loudly as everyone filed out the class.  Evan, and Gregory got up out of there seats, and left the classroom.  Thought Gregory was pulled back by the teacher who had an enticing glare at the young boy.

"Ah Ah Ah... you cannot leave yet Gregory... you still have detention.  That was your punishment."  The old lady said.

"Wait, but how am I going to get home?"  He asked.

"Your mother will pick you up. She had already been informed of your detention  Now run along young man, you've got a bus to catch." The old lady shooed Evan out of her room, as he had a frown on his face.

"Don't worry Evan, it's only for a couple days.  Besides it can't be that bad!"  Gregory said with a smile...

Oh boy was he wrong.

Evan's POV

I got off the bus with Elizabeth next to me, asking me all sorts of questions.

"Ohmygoshevanareyouokay? Imsosorryiwasntthere! Didyougetreallyhurt? Didyouhitanyone?"  She asked me.

"Slow down... I-i didn't get hurt that badly... Gregory came in, and took them all down..." I answered, as Elizabeth gasped.

"Noway! Now he definitely gets the cool points from me!"  She smiled, before slinging her arm around my neck, raising her eyebrows.

"Sooo~ what do you think of him?" She asked me with a sly smirk.  I could feel heat rising to my face.

"H-He's a good friend...". I say, as Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, and I'm adopted... seriously Evan! Do you like him?" She asked me, my face lit up.

"I-I uh... no?"  She giggled loudly.

"Seems like my brother had a crush~". My sister teased.  I swear I could feel my face melting from the heat... of embarrassment.

"N-No I don't... I think?..." I say the last part to myself.  I didn't really know what to think.

'Do I really like Gregory? Or are these feelings just... fake?'
