As I walked through my own house I felt as if I was being followed. I rushed up the stairs feeling as if their was a presence behind me. As I got to the top of the steps I peered back down the steps to reveal nothing. I shook off the feeling and walked to my room. I opened my door and threw myself on my bed. I picked up my phone and unlocked it, playing my music.
"Abigayle! Get down here now!" My mom shouted from the steps. I sighed and paused my music. I came down the steps to see my mom standing in the living room with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Yes?" I said as plainly as possible.
"Go do the dishes like I told you to an hour ago!" My mom shouted.
"Ok sorry I forgot. You act like I killed someone." I said before walking to the kitchen. I played music as I always do when I do the dishes. After I sat my phone down I started to put the dishes that were currently in the dishwasher away. I started singing along quietly to the songs that had come on. I felt a breeze and watched as the blinds covering the glass sliding door to my deck started shaking. I sat the plate I had in my hand down before walking over to the door. I opened the blinds and stepped outside and looked around. I saw the figure of a person.
"Whose there?!" I shouted before I watched the figure disappear. I ran after the person until I had chased them off the property and not once saw the face of the mysterious figure. I walked back towards the house after seeing the figure was gone. I heard a step from behind me and spun around to see nothing. I stood looking for a moment hoping to find the figure but with no luck, so I continued to walk back to the house.
As I thought about the person I had figured out that it was most likely a man. The figure had broad shoulders and muscular forearms so it had to be a man. It just had to be. I was still shaken by the thought of the figure. It could have been a murderer or a rapist. By the time I got back into the house my mom stood in the kitchen.
"Why were you yelling?" My mom asked now calmed and more worried than mad.
"There was a person outside. I couldn't see their face but I ran them off the property." I said locking the glass sliding door.
"Was it a man or a woman?" She asked curiously.
"I'm pretty sure it was a man but I'm not sure." I said turning and facing my mom.
"I'm calling the police." My mom said while pulling out her phone.
"Don't its not worth it. Whoever it was is already gone and I didn't see anything other than that they were wearing dark jeans and a black hoodie." I said turning around to close the blinds. My mom started to walk out when I saw someone standing on the deck for a quick second before they vanished. I couldn't see anything but their mouth, the rest of their face was concealed by the shadow from their hood. I screamed and jumped back.
"What's wrong did you see him?" My mom asked coming back in the kitchen and looking at me.
"Well I thought I did but it must have been a figment of my imagination." I said as I closed the blinds. I walked back upstairs and went to my room. Who was that? Had that got into my house? I turned on my tv and turned off the light then laid down in bed. I had eventually dosed off to a show called Ridiculousness.
I awoke to the sound of someone coming up the stairs. I laid in bed motionless for moment then heard footsteps coming towards my room. I picked up my phone and checked the time; two twenty-five in the morning. I heard the door knob slowly turn and my heart started beating a million miles an hour as I laid motionless in the darkness.
