Chapter 4 - The Surprise

Charley's point of view

I tried opening my eyes, and it hurt, I couldn't move, my head was pounding and I knew it was my own doing, I brought this on myself, dammit! I rolled over and felt around for my phone, I managed to open one eye and saw that it was very bright outside, checking the time, my heart raced, it was almost 10AM. At least I didn't have work today, but I needed to be ready in a couple hours, I needed coffee and a shower. I pried myself from the bed and went into the bathroom, I brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth, I felt sick, nothing that happened last night feels real, I can't believe Shayne came to get me from the bar, but I knew why, it was the note, well, it was both notes. He had a surprise planned and I felt nervous, I didn't know what exactly it was, but I was sure to find out soon enough. The notes had instructions, telling me what to do today.

I went back into the bedroom and opened the first note, the one I found on the bed with the rose. I read it again and smiled, I felt a tingle all over my body, as angry as I was with him I just couldn't bring myself to not want this so much, I was intrigued, I needed to know what my surprise was, I wanted this to work so badly, deep down I needed to know that I overreacted, I wanted him to tell me I was wrong and he was right and he loved me, but only time will tell.

Liv knocked on my door, I went to open it I got a whiff of the amazing coffee she held in her hand, I smiled and took the cup, "OMG Thank you! I am so..." before I could finish my sentence she gave me a hug, "You drive me mental, but I love you sis!", I smiled when she let me go and gulped my coffee, "This was so needed! I love you too, do we have pain killers, I think I may need a bottle, I have such a banging headache", she laughed, "Yea I have them downstairs I figured you might need them this morning", she turned to walk out and I couldn't contain myself, I had to ask "So, you and Jason, you know what's going on today don't you?", she stopped with her hand on the door handle, she turned to look at me and smiled "Yes, you should get ready." and with that she walked out.

Liv's point of view

I walked out of Charley's room smiling, she was going to be so surprised, I just hope he didn't mess it up this time. I went back to the kitchen and found Jason making pancakes, and they smelled amazing! "She's awake, the car will be here in a couple hours, she's getting ready now, do you really think this is going to work, I mean, of course it will... I'm just...", Jason walked up to me, he put his arms either side of me and I felt his body close to me now, he leaned forward "Shhhh..." and I felt his lips lightly touch mine, and he moved them over my cheek to my ear, it sent shivers down my spine. "It's going to be fine", he whispered. He knew what he was doing to me, "Tonight, we have the house to ourselves, we may have to relive the night of the awards, I am craving some... I left something on the bed for you". He walked back to the pancakes, like nothing had happened.

I stared at him, his beautiful ice blue eyes shone as he made breakfast, my heart raced, and I smiled, a slow realisation dawned on me and I pushed it away, soon I would be going back to New York, what would I do without him, I am not sure how I was going to leave. I poured some coffee and walked out to the patio, I didn't yet want to see what was on the bed, that could wait till Charley had left, looking out over the city I knew that Monday I started the contract my boss had set up, so I had 5 days of crazy shows to work, I would hardly see Jason and then I would be gone a couple days later. The thought of it made my heart race, but not in a good way, I felt tears threaten and I forced myself to breath and push it out of my mind... for now.
