Chapter 1

        You awoke to your alarm ringing from your phone. You groaned and quickly shut it off. You felt very tired this morning because the night before you had been working on a late assignment for your English class. You got up and get yourself dressed and ate some breakfast. After you finished you headed off to your classes you had today.

~ skip to when classes are over ~

'Uuuugh my classes felt like fooooooeeeeeeveeer!'
You thought as you quickly walked towards your apartment. You went in and set your school work aside and sighed as you got dressed into your work clothes. You had to walk to your job due to you not having a car so you made sure to grab a small bag and a water bottle so you would be alright. You remembered today you had to work till way late because no one else could and you were the only person "available". Once you checked in your co-worker left early for whatever reason they had.

           They always did this and it annoyed you to no end but there wasn't much you could do about it. So you started taking orders and making them for the customers that came in. Business slowed down around 9:00 so you could take a bit of a breather. Well at least that's what you thought. Suddenly some kind of giant green turtle flew into the door and fell in the coffee shop. Immediately after a lizard creature came after them and the two began to fight one another in the cafe.
   
          While you panicked and grabbed a frying pan from under the counter three more smaller but still giant turtles jumped in and began to help the other turtle fight the lizard. They seemed to be arguing and panicking about something but you were too distressed to notice. The orange turtle swung from the ceiling and kicked the lizard right into the counter. The lizard groaned and was about to get up but you quickly knocked him in the head with your pan knocking him out cold. You tried to calm your breathing while the turtle quartet stared at you in surprise. Once you calmed yourself a bit you spoke up

" what the hell just happened?!"

They stared at you and then looked at one another in panic before the orange one chimes in and said

" nothing! Um uh yourrrrrrr dreaming! Yeah, it's all just a crazy dream!"

" do you really think I'd believe that?! I'm not a child! Not to sound rude if this is offensive to you but what even are you?!"

" weeelllllll we're mutants?  Hehe......"
Said the red masked one.

" ok that.....seems to line up.....I, oh noooo! I have to clean this mess or my boss will kill me!! I'm dead! Six feet under already! I didn't even get to finish college!!"

" hey! I know this is a crazy situation but maybe try and calm down buddy? We could..... help you clean this up!"
The blue one tried to calm you down and cheer you up in the crazy situation.

" well we best hurry if your gonna help! Aaaah! You! Red masked turtle, please close the door and change the sign to say closed! I'll get some cleaning supplies and one of the others please move this lizard mutant somewhere else so I can clean the counter!"

         You hurriedly ran to the supply closet and grabbed a mop, a broom, rags and counter cleaner, and more. You brought them back and saw they had placed the lizard in the corner of the cafe and were waiting for you to instruct them on what to do next rather awkwardly. You handed the red one the mop, the orange on the broom, the blue one counter cleaner and a rag, then as you were going to hand the purple one some supplies he shook his head and suddenly his purple shell had mechanical arms come out of it and he began to fix the counter. You stared in amazement and said

" oh my god that is so cool!! Did you make it!? That's so awesome!! How'd you do it?! Does it have other functions?!"
You spoke rather quickly and somewhat loudly shocking the purple turtle.

" aah! Sorry I just get excited about things like robotics and engineering... oh I'm so sorry for being so rude I'm m/n! I should've introduced myself to you guys sooner, sorry."

You held your hand out for a handshake with a awkward smile hoping he'd forgive you and not think you were weird. He stared at you wide eyed with shock on his face but then smiled a little and said

" it's fine! My name is Donatello or Donnie, I get very excited about tech to! It's nice to meet someone who feels the same way! Do you want to hear about my inventions?!!"

His eyes seemed to sparkle with excitement.

" I'd love to! But first we need to clean up alright? I can treat you guys to a free coffee as thanks if you'd like?"

The turtles seemed surprised by your offer. Why offer them coffee for cleaning up a mess they made?

" Hey names Leonardo or Leo, also why offer us coffee when we literally trashed this shop?"

" well I mean mister lizard here is what I'm assuming to be a "bad guy" I've seen him on the news and to see you fighting him I guess I kinda labeled you as "hero's" haha...... sorry if that sounds odd..."

Their eyes seemed to glow by your words! You thought of them as hero's!! Heroes! They gushed about it to one another for a moment before they went back to cleaning and chatting once awhile. Eventually you all had fixed up the entire cafe back to the way it was.

" soooo would you guys like your iced coffees now or another time?"

" what do you mean?"
Said raph

" well I always work here till midnight during the week and nobody ever really comes in so if you ever wanna drop by for some coffee I thought I'd let you for helping me out and probably saving me from a lizard fight."

" wait so your ok with us coming back here?! We're not...... freakish to you?"

" no not really. Your the nicest mutants I've ever met and seem pretty cool. I enjoy your company.."

You said with a smile. This made the four boys hearts skip a beat. You were already being so nice to them and then you don't care about their appearance? It in a way seemed to good to be true. Especially considering you were a rather good looking guy, yeah you had eye bags but not the sloppy ones they made you look like a sweet tired guy. Your smile just added to their flustered faces.

" Um well I wouldn't mind coming around another time if that's alright with you.."

You smiled and said it was alright. The others agreed on coming here to get some coffee every so often thinking it would be fun to have another human friend.
