Slightly younger than me
But skin bearing tattoos with heartbreaking meanings
Only wearing black, shut himself out.
Bitter
Eyes filled with pain
Breaking
Breathing so strained
But he let me in
When I was just a homeless boy
He let me in
Into his palace of a heart.

Green eyes
Diamond smile
Face glistening with tears
He held me as I cried
And even if the world didn't treat him right,
He tried to be the best for it
It broke my heart to see him break

The world, unfair, stacked its odds up against us.
