If Dex Returned Alone

Part 2: Alluveterre

Sophie's POV:

When we got to the base it was amazing. We were in a clearing surrounded by trees with 2 treehouses and a gazebo in the middle. I couldn't belive this is where I was going to live for the a night until I move in with one of the Black Swan's family's. Mr. Forkle said he wanted to introduce me to some peole so I followed him.

Mr. Forkle's POV:

Sophie looks so amazed that it's hard not to laugh at her expession. First, I introduces her to Calla. Sophie is a little wary at first, but once they get to know each other they're best friends. Then, I introduces her to the collective. After everything she's been through we decided that we shouldn't keep that many secrets, so they showed her our identities. I showed her that I'm Magnate Leto and Sir Astin, among other things. Squall is Juline, and Sophie almost had a heart attack when she saw her, thinking she was Edaline, but after she realized it was Dex's mom they hugged. Blur is Fernan Babblos, Jensi's brother. Wraith decided to not particapate in the showing. Granite came with Wylie and reveled himself as Tiergan. Sophie imedietly ran over to him and gave him a quick hug. When she turned to Wylie she asked if he could forgive her, obviously thinking the memory break was her fault, even though it wasn't. He looked suprised at first then told her that he didn't blame her. It was so sweet! Suddenly Oralie came bursting through the door. "Thank the gods my daughter's alive!" She cried.

Sophie's POV:

She's my mom!? I didn't realize I said it out loud until I saw everyone looking at me. Or maybe that's because a councillor was hugging me, I couldn't really tell. After the shock was over, I was relieved. I thought my biological parents hated me because they just let their daughter be experimented on, but she loved me. I hugged her back as hard as I could. "Wait then who's my dad?" I asked. Then the door burst open again, this time it was a crying Stina.

Stina's POV:

I burst through the door crying. After the look of shock on Sophie's face went away she led me outside to talk.

"What are you doing here?" She asked. I wiped away some tears and explained how my dad saw me crying about her death and brought me here showing that he's a part of the Black Swan.

"I'm so sorry," I said, "It's my fault you died, or what ever happened."

"It's alright. You were just trying to tell me that she wasn't actually my friend, although, why did you start bullying me in the first place?" Sophie asked.

"It's because when you first saw me you didn't even know me, yet you laughed at what hapened, not even knowing the full story. When I first went to Foxfire the news of my dad faking a ability was still going around. Everyone expected me to be talentless too, so they bullied me. After a while I got sick of it and started bullying them back. My parents were like Dex's, but worse because of my dad and I was bullied even more because of it. Only reason no one knows is because i'm not a snitch, unlike Dex who always gets us both in trouble. Then I realized I was talking bad about her friend.

"Sorry I shouldn't have said those mean things about him. I'm trying not to be that mean any more but Dex is rude. I mean like I said his parents are the same as mine but he still didn't like me. At first I tried to be friends with him but he avoided me, probaly because he heard I'm mean."

"It's alright Dex may be a cinnamon roll, but he can be really mean. Like when Grady and Edaline canceled my adoption, I was hoping to live with the Vackers, befroe I realized they were faking a relationship, and he completely hated that idea and was mad at me all day for even wanting to be adopted by them," Sophie ranted. Then I realized something else.

"Why did you fake your death?" I asked. She fell silent for a second before talking about how no one cared about her anymore, so when Mr. Forkle offered she immediately said yes. I totally would have made the same choice.

"You said you were trying not to be mean anymore. What's that about?" she asked.

"Well, I guess since your fake death I feel guilty about bullying. I want to apologize but I don't think any one would belive me." I explained.

"I did." she said

"But your different. You would belive anything. I mean, not to be rude but you used to be really gulible. People would think I'm faking or something like that."

"You should try anyway. You might be suprised."

"I guess."

"Miss Foster," Mr. Forkle called,"Miss Heks."

"What," I called back.

"Time to pick who to live with,"

We head inside and see that Tiergan Mr. Forkle, and to our suprise Timkin Heks offering to adopt her. To my, and everyone elses, surprise she chose us.

A/N: I kinda want to kill off one of Sophie's old friends. I give you till I'm done with chapter 5 to vote.
