Hayley woke up next to her daughter who was now wide awake.

"Momma, what happened?" Hope asked as soon as she saw her mom was awake.

Hayley took in her daughter's wide eyes, understanding her fear. She had been possessed by the Hallow and then woke up briefly during the chaos when Vincent extracted it. Hayley wasn't sure how much her daughter remembered and honestly Hayley hoped she remembered none of it.

"Hi, baby." Hayley sat up to wrap her arms around her daughter, pulling her close. "Why don't we go down and get breakfast and then we can talk. You must be hungry."

"But what happened?" Hope asked again, refusing to be distracted. "Where's daddy?"

"Your daddy is downstairs." Hayley reassured her. She wasn't sure exactly where Klaus had gotten to since she left him in the church tower with Freya, but she knew he wouldn't stay away from Hope for long. "We can find him right after we eat."

Kol wasn't sure why he was still in New Orleans. He missed Davina and hated to leave her on her own. But he also knew that Elijah would be so angry with him if he abandoned his family right now. While Kol was used to disappointing Elijah, he couldn't bring himself to leave. Especially since he seemed to be the only one thinking rationally.

As if on cue, Kol heard crashing. He really wasn't surprised how fast his siblings turned to anger when confronted with death.

Kol vamp sped up to Elijah's study where he discovered Nik haphazardly throwing books across the room while Rebekah seemed to try and talk him down.

"What the bloody hell is going on in here?" Kol demanded.

"Apparently the key to saving Elijah is in destroying his study." Bex stated exasperatedly.

"He's collected thousands of books over the years, one of these has to have an answer." Nik snapped.

"Surprisingly, I doubt the answer will be in a first edition of the Odyssey." Kol quipped back, picking up the book off the floor where it had been tossed. "I can just imagine Elijah's face to see all of his precious books thrown about."

"I don't have to worry about his disapproving look since he's dead." Nik turned to face his siblings. "Our dear brother did not think this all through when he sacrificed himself. He didn't concern himself with who is supposed to keep me in line. To keep me on my path to his precious redemption."

"How about your daughter." Kol heard Hayley say behind him. She must have also been disturbed by the destruction Nik was causing in Elijah's study. "You know, the little girl that is downstairs asking where her father has been all morning."

Kol could tell Hayley's temper was rising. He hadn't paid much attention to Elijah and Hayley's on and off relationship, but he knew his older brother was deeply in love with her. Kol often thought it was partly due to her temper since it allowed her to go head to head with the Mikalesons.

Nik met her eyes for a moment and then turned back to tearing through the bookshelf. This time his attention turned to Elijah's journals, which had been placed neatly on a lower shelf. He tossed one of them across the room and Hayley lost it.

"Stop it!" She yelled at Nik, while grabbing the journal out of the air and clutching it to her chest. "Stop destroying all of his things!"

"Why?" Nik demanded, "It's not like anyone else is going to be using it."

"You always do this. You get angry and destroy everything around you." At this, Klaus spun around to face Hayley.

"Don't you dare tell me how to grieve the loss of my brother." Nik growled at her, staring Hayley down. "You've known him what, all of two minutes. Don't you dare pretend that you have any idea what my family is going through."
