YOU ANNOY ME

Yoongi met Jungkook for the first time when he was just a trainee. The doe-eyed boy was always eager to learn new things but always getting in trouble with the other two teenagers.

Yoongi remember the first time he had to rescue Jungkook. The young boys along with Taehyung and mischief mastermind Jimin were running from their angry manager. Yoongi had taken mercy and hid them in his room. After all, no one was allowed inside Yoongi hyung's room so no one would even think about looking for the troublemakers in there.

That was almost a decade ago. Now Jungkook is a fine young man who has grown to become the golden idol of k-pop. And Prod. Yoongi is slowly being recognized across the globe but his plans for World domination always take a detour for saving his friends from trouble. Just like this time.

Jungkook was caught drunk in their office building and was put on a new schedule to keep him so busy that he will have no time to fool around. In his defense, it was Namjoon's birthday and the little fan-boy in him was just off the hook at the party the night before. Nevertheless, management decided to put Jungkook on a new schedule for his own good. The only way to stop Jungkook from going off the rails is to remind him just how much he loves his job.

And dear old Yoongi hyung was given the responsibility to teach Jungkook some tricks of the trade while he was under the new mandatory training schedule.

"Focus Jungkook-ah!" says Yoongi while tapping on the table in his studies and Jungkook comes back to reality.

"Hyung you are so cute today. It's not my fault that I keep zoning out."

Jungkook has always been blunt but Yoongi almost always takes it as a joke. But this time is different.

Yoongi feels Jungkook sliding a hand over his though and giving his knee a soft squeeze before leaning back into his seat and letting it of breathy moan.

"Stop messing around. You need to be able to do this when they ask you about it. I may not be able save you everytime." Yoongi shoves the piece of paper on Jungkook chest before getting off his chair "I'll be back in half an hour. Get used to this space. You will be here a lot more often now.".

Jungkook smirks making Yoongi roll his eyes before stepping out.

The boy is an absolute menace, Yoongi thinks to himself as he heads over to the cafeteria to grab a drink.

Jungkook spends the next two weeks hopping between Yoongi's and Namjoon's studios and learning how to produce songs. He has made a request to try something of his own and the studio has always indulged his creative requests. The Golden Maknae is worth every penny and every second invested on him.

"Hyung!" Jungkook yells while barging into Yoongi's studio.

"Can't you f*cking knock?" Yoongi protested and Jungkook responds "You gave me the code. You asked me to get used to the place!".

Yoongi sighs. Jungkook isn't wrong.

"What is it Jungkook?" Yoongi asks and the doe-eyed boy responds "Namjoon hyung got my song approved. I wanted you to be the first one to know.".

Yoongi sighs again. He hates that he scolded Jungkook at that very celebratory moment.

"Come here!" he says while getting off his chair and Jungkook leaps into the hug. It lingers on for far too long with Jungkook inching closer and closer every few seconds until Yoongi feels the need to stop.

"Hmmm! So this definitely deserves a celebration. Are Jimin and Taehyung around?" Yoongi asks and Jungkook tells him that the two have left for Ireland to shoot a music video with their new collaboration.

"That's ok!" Yoongi assures him "Namjoon and I will be here.".

"But Namjoon hyung is headed over to Switzerland for his new art project" Jungkook sounds disappointed as he continues "and it seems like you don't want to hang out with me alone!".

And just as the sweet boy is about to leave the studio, Yoongi blurts out something he really shouldn't have.

"My place! 8PM. Bring beer. I'll cook!"

Jungkook who is now beaming with joy thanks Yoongi before leaving.

Yoongi thinks it's fine. They work together. They have practically grown up together in the company dorm. It's not a bad thing to hang out with your co-workers.

The clock strikes 8 and then 9 and soon it strikes 10 in the dark of night. Jungkook never shows up and Yoongi stuffs the food he made for them into his refrigerator before going to sleep. He doesn't feel hungry anymore.

The next morning Yoongi bumps into Jungkook who is being escorted by one of their managers to the company car.

"Where were you last night?" Yoongi asks and before Jungkook can answer, the manager half-hearted apologizes to Yoongi and says they are in a rush. And Yoongi is left in the parking lot, amazed and a little annoyed.

But he shakes it off and heads over to his studio. Work waits for no one and nor do his plans for World domination.

Text from Jungkook: I'm sorry. They had me working till midnight last night. I should have texted you myself. They said they will let you know. It's all my fault. I'm sorry hyung.

Text from Yoongi: It's fine.

Text from Jungkook: Can we catch up tonight?

Text from Yoongi: Maybe some other time Jungkook-ah! Hyung has a lot of work to do.

Text from Jungkook: Sure hyung! Anytime you want!

Yoongi thinks that it was just Jungkook's way of being polite and he did not actually want to hang out with him. He knows Jungkook is used to partying with his friends every chance he gets so Yoongi isn't even that annoying that Jungkook did not show up.

Maybe just a little annoyed but Yoongi is still human. It's only natural to be mad at your crust for ditching a dinner date. Well, just dinner, not a date.

"You annoy me! You annoy me so so much! Why can't I stop thinking about you? Such a menace!"

Yoongi voices his frustration in his empty and soundproof studio before getting back to work.

He does get another text a few hours later.

Text from Jungkook: I'm back! Are you still in your studio? Can I bring you some beer?

Yoongi doesn't respond. Maybe it's for the best that he stays away from the doe-eyed boy who's presence makes Yoongi forget just how messy this can get. He needs to focus on his work and nothing else. Jungkook can easily find someone better to play his little flirting games with.

If only Yoongi knew Jungkook was standing outside his studio, waiting to be granted access this time.

If only Yoongi knew Jungkook wanted to tell him that his manager forced him to stay away from Yoongi last night and gave him an hour long lecture about why it's a bad idea to pursue whatever it is that Jungkook wants with Yoongi.

And if only Yoongi knew that Jungkook was the type to not let go even if things get hard. But Yoongi doesn't know that a sad Jungkook walks away from his studio door with his hands stuffed in his pocket and a tear rolling down his cheeks.

Yoongi isn't a bad guy. He would never want to be the reason Jungkook feels sad. But this time, Yoongi is the reason Jungkook will go back to drinking irresponsibly again.
