CELEBRATION TIME

"Can I get one of those pink drinks too?" Yoongi enquires and a joyfully startled Jungkook leaps into his arms.

"You're here! I can't believe you made it here on time" he exclaims while retreating from the hug and Yoongi gives him a fond smile as he asks "How could I not?".

Jungkook doesn't answer. Honestly, he was almost sure Yoongi will make up an excuse to not visit him. Or maybe he was almost sure he doesn't deserve to have Yoongi put in such an effort for him. But he is so glad that Yoongi is here right now.

What Jungkook doesn't know is that although the night has just begun, Yoongi is already planning an early exit. Something happened before Yoongi began his journey to New York and it changed what he wanted from tonight.

A few hours before his flight, Yoongi was still stuck in his studio. He was just trying to complete that one little project for a jingle which couldn't wait and he was confident that he can make it in time. So he worked all night long to get the job done. He can sleep in the fight, he had thought, unaware of the turn of events that was about to unfold.

He was exhaust and a little sleepy so he thought a cup of coffee would feel. And the cafeteria seems a million flights of stairs away. So he headed over to the break room in his floor where he accidentally overheard a conversation.

He wasn't eavesdropping. They are genuinely being too long in the break room and he was just going there to grab a cup of coffee. To be fair, he really thought going all the way down to the cafeteria was a waste of time.

This is exactly why he had asked for a coffee machine in his studio. Having to listen to gossip is not the best use of his time, especially when it is about him sweet Jungkook.

"Some fan saw him with that guy from the new superhero movie. The one he is obsessed with. It took us a lot of time to get rid of that one. That fan was persistent and US entertainment news is fed in a whole different way." one of the executives sips his coffee while the other goes on and on about how Jungkook has been seen with a lot many people in a lot many places over the past few months and it is getting difficult to handle his public slip ups.

"Do you know why our old CEO stepped down?" the nosey man question the other who just nods in denial. "Yeah! Something big must have happened for him to think of doing something like that.".

"Does it even matter?" the other man enquires "They are all obsessed with that little brat while we are the ones answerable to investors.".

Yoongi wants to barge in and say that "brat" is the reason the company stands tall today. That "brat" is the reason those men even have the jobs they clearly don't deserve.

But Yoongi holds back. Creating a scene just hours before leaving for New York will not help him. He has barely managed to even fit the trip into his schedule.

So he is about to take a U-turn and head back to his studio when he hears one of the man say "I hear he has been sleeping with one of the producers. That's why he keep getting all the good projects!".

And that was his last straw. Yoongi couldn't stand being the reason people question Jungkook's talent and dedication. And there was only one thing he could do about it. He had to say his goodbyes and stay as far away from Jungkook as he possibly could.

It shouldn't be difficult, he thought to himself. They live half a World apart and Jungkook has no intentions of coming back.

So Yoongi grabs his bag from inside his studio and heads over to the airport. He was eager to meet his doe-eyed boy for one last time and he wanted nothing to come between their final reunion.
