Jungkook adjusts to life in the states faster than he could have imagined. LA is everything he has ever wanted.

It was his first day in the new office and a very queer receptionist with a little pride flag in their pen stands shows him around the office while shamelessly hitting on him.

Jungkook doesn't mind. It's harmless flirty banter. And it makes him feel good that his tired and bloated face is being treated like beauty beyond measure. Or maybe they are just being polite. But whatever the reason may be, it definitely makes Jungkook smile.

The parties are a bit much but AA is helpful. He met one of the company executives in one of his meetings and they decided never to go to the same meeting again. Although Jungkook is definitely holding that little secret he learned over the executives head if they ever try to bother him.

Adjusting to LA is easier than expected and everything is just wonderful but it still feels incomplete.

Jungkook misses fooling around with Taehyung and Jimin. He misses running behind Hobi from restaurants to recording studios, tiring him and thrilling his day at the same time.

He thinks of Jin every time he cooks. After all, his amazing Jin hyung taught him how to survive on his own.

"Listening carefully you brat!" Jin had teased him while grabbing pots and pan in his kitchen. "I refuse to let you go without you learning how to cook a decent Jajangmyeon and your favorite Gimbap.".

Jungkook still can not roll a decent Gimbap but at least they taste homemade and comforting.

He really misses his Namjoon hyung. None of the producers here are remotely as gorgeous and as cognitively evolved as Namjoon. But none of them are nearly as clumsy either. He still laughs every time he sees someone stamping a document. Namjoon usually ends up stamping himself. Oh how he misses his clumsy sexy genius hyung.

And speaking of hyungs he misses so much, Yoongi has not left his mind for even a second.

He was in New York last week and had the sudden urge to paint. Of course the golden idol was provided all the necessary supplies and his finished art was carefully shipped back to his LA home even before he got back to his lavish company abode.

The painting now sits on a bedside table at arm's reach and he has wiped countless drops of tears off it's glass top.

It's just a painting of two men sitting on a peer soon after sunset when the skies are turning blue and greeting the slumbering night.

But Jungkook knows the truth. It's the moment when he first told Yoongi that he had feelings for him. Yoongi first thought it was just a joke, one of Jungkook's countless flirty jokes. But Yoongi had assumed him that he will get over it before grabbing his lighter and running away.

Yes, Jungkook would have been a chain smoking alcoholic if Yoongi had not stopped him that day. Now he is just an alcoholic, most of which is because of Yoongi.

And as time passes, Jungkook thinks it is wise to say goodbye to a past he may never return to. After all, he has no intentions of ever going back. His family loves to travel and they are barely ever home. And Jungkook is just too busy with work.

If he wants to meet someone, he can always plan a little vacation with them. He likes to visit places with rich history. Just like month he met Hobi and Jin in Malta. They were working with the new girl group who were shooting a season of Voyagers and Jungkook took the opportunity to rescue his hyungs from the screaming chaos.

It was wonderful catching up with them and getting to know how everyone else is doing.

"How's Yoongi hyung?" he had asked and Hobi had hastily replied "He's great! Everyone's great! Come home someday!".

Jungkook had avoided responding to that request. He was not willing to go back and he was not ready to face Yoongi after how he left everything behind.

And before he had left Malta, Jin had let him in on a little secret, something that was going to keep him awake for days. "There is a project Yoongi was offered last month but he refused to accept it. They will contact you next. It's almost a done deal, if you can convince him to join you. Think about it!".
