Mommy issues

Before Lucas step mother and siblings entered the picture,
It was only him, and his parents living in one big house.
Lucas was very close with his mother. He was a mommy's boy and he cherished her in every way.

His parents weren't much of a perfect match, but they were doing okay as much as Lucas can remember.

His mother had some flaws...When it came to drug substances. And his father put up with it. Eventually though, Arguments started to escalate. Until Lucas was 6 years old, his father decided to get a divorce with her.

His mother ended up leaving the house, moving into a trailer outside of their town. Lucas would still visit her though, in the weekends.

Their relationship was still the same, Even though his mother was a junkie. She did all sorts of drugs. Ecstasy, Xanax, Heroine, You name it. She didn't have a job, not because she couldn't but because she was too lazy. So she sold herself whenever she can. Lucas father was nice enough to even let him see his mother. But he would never allow him to sleep in the shitty trailer she lived in.

One day, A week after Lucas turned 7, He witnessed his mother overdosing. He remembered seeing her laid on the ground, Puke coming out of her mouth and her eyes open and dozed off. He stood their and cried until one of her friends finally came in and saw what was happening.

That day Lucas father was furious at her. He threatened to take full custody of Lucas But his mother begged not too. She promised him she'd go to rehab and get the help that she needed.

6 Months later, Lucas Reunited with her mother and everything was back to the way things were. Visiting her in the weekends like always.

When Lucas was 8 years old his father got engaged to a beautiful women with thick black hair. That same year though, He witnessed his mother have another overdose again. This time it looked more deadly, like she was on the edge of having a heart attack.

That day his father was going to take full custody of his son. But with all the marriage planning and the constant begging and crying from Lucas, he decided not too.

At the age of 10 Lucas witnessed it all happen all over again. As he got older he realized his mother was never going to change. That the tension between his parents will always stay there.

His step sister Amanda moved in that year. He wasn't too pleased. And his step mother was pregnant with his younger brother. His father slowly expanded to his new family. Him and Lucas didn't have much quality time as they used too.

He slowly started seeing his mother less. She would always make up excuses about something and would never return his calls. He would start seeing her at least once a month. Twice if he was lucky.

He realized how much his mother never really cared for him. Because at the end of the day, she would choose drugs over her only kid.

When Lucas was 12. He went to go visit his mothers trailer after not hearing from her over 3 months. He caught his mother Packing her things into a car. He asked her where she was going and how much he missed spending time with her. He also noticed marks on her arm, as if she was recently injecting herself. She told him she was going on a trip with her friends and that she'll be back.

That was the last time he ever saw his mother.

He cried himself to sleep that night. Because deep down he knew she wasn't coming back.
