Reflections.

Temptation

Amanda woke up to the bright sun beaming through the car window. Her head was rested on Manny's chest while his head was against the window.

His arms were wrapped around Amanda's waist, making it hard for her to move properly. He was sound asleep.

Amanda slowly sat up, not trying to wake Manny up. As she was looking for her phone, Manny opened his eyes with a confused look on his face.

"What time is it?" He asked in a tiring voice while rubbing his eyes.

Amanda grabbed her phone that was on the ground. "Shit— It's 6:45, Class starts in 20 minutes." Amanda said in a panicky voice.

She went through all the messages and miscalled Lucas had sent her. Manny noticed the panic in her eyes and her shaky hands.

"Hey- Amanda relax, I'll help you come up with an excuse." He placed his hand on her shoulder.

Amanda looked at him in fear. "Lucas— If Lucas finds out he's gonna torment me for life- Manny he's gonna kill me." Her voice was cracking due to the anxiety taking over her.

"Let me see what he said." Manny said calmly.

Amanda handed him her phone. He noticed all of her parents miscalled but the messages Lucas had sent her had catch his eye.

LUCAS: Where the fuck are you???

LUCAS: Are you with mystery boy again??

LUCAS: Amanda i swear this persons dead when i find out who he is.

LUCAS: You're mom is so close into calling the cops.

Manny felt the pit in his stomach kick in again. The guilt lingering in his head made his spine bring heat rise up.

He traced his fingers through his hair out of stress, trying not to show it.

"The most we can do Amanda is lie."

"What if we just tell him the-"

"No!!"

Manny raised his voice, making Amanda flinch.

He noticed the change in his tone of voice. He sighed to himself and let his nerves calm for a moment.

"Listen to me.. this can never happen again you understand? Whatever this is it's done!!"

Amanda looked at him with disappointment and sorrow. She couldn't comprehend how she was feeling. The confusing and frustration she had been feeling for awhile now has built up into something else.

"Why are you like this?" Amanda asked.

"Like what?" Manny's voice was stern.

"A dirty jock who only cares for himself." She got out of the car, slamming the door at him.

Manny got out of the car, attempting to follow her. "You know nothing about me Amanda- And where the hell are you going."

"Away from you! Just like you asked me too."

And that's where it hit him. Manny knew he would feel the need to come back to Amanda. There's something about her that pulls Manny in. There was something about her presence that brought peace into his mind. But the thought of Lucas destroys that fantasy.

"Amanda don't go!!" Manny shouted.

"I'll find my way around just like i did the last time remember!!" She responded.
