DISCLAIMER: None of the characters are aware of the twist involving Chihiro yet, just in case anyone starts asking. This will be addressed later on.

Makoto approached the cafeteria's food serving section to get a chance to talk to whoever this Kirumi was that Ruruka mentioned. Amongst the different types of food on display, there were a diverse range of fruits in one area, along with both Japanese and more, uh, American looking types of cuisine in another. It all looked so scrumptiously delicious... if my manners weren't so good, I'd probably be drooling from the sight. Behind the serving counter stood the pale maid he saw from earlier.

The first thing Makoto noticed about her was how tall she was. She stood high above him, far taller than the average woman. She seemed to have a very thin waistline, as he could clearly see from her outfit. Her hair was an ashy sage color, mostly kept short with a few long bangs that covered the left side of her face, along with a black laced headdress atop her head. Above her fancy white buttoned dress shirt and purple tie (which was hard to notice, by the way) was a long pinafore-styled black apron-like dress, four white buttons along the middle of her torso, with a very faint spiderweb motif that you could see if you paid attention to detail. Her sleeves had elegant frills at the end, accompanied by her black gloves, and long laced black socks that covered her legs. She took notice of him and spoke first.

"Greetings, sir. I am sorry to hear about what happened to your vault. Rest assured, I will ensure that you feel right at home here. Would you care for a meal, or a minor snack? We have a variety of food items to choose from, if you would prefer so."

She seems to be nice so far. Very professional, too, Makoto thought. "Oh, thank you very much! B-But I actually wanted to introduce myself to you first. I'm fine with getting a little food later, though."

Kirumi nodded and obeyed his request. "That can be arranged. My name is Kirumi Tojo, and I am the Ultimate Maid," she said, giving a slight bow. "Many know me as the vault's greatest culinary expert, although my skills reach far beyond that. Please let me know if you require any of my services."

"A maid, huh? I guessed that based on the outfit you're wearing." Makoto thought she looked far more fashionable than he would expect a traditional maid to look like. "Must be a pretty hard title to get. I'm Makoto Naegi, the Ultimate Lucky Student." He gave a slight bow in return. "Nice to meet you. So, do you help keep the vault tidy and prepare the food?"

"I wear this uniform because I find it far more appropriate for my line of work than the jumpsuits the inhabitants wear. My talent doesn't nearly end there, Sir Makoto. The vault is equipped with an automated floor vacuuming system that keeps the floors clean. However, my title consists of doing far more than cooking and cleaning. As the Ultimate Maid, it is my responsibility to be equipped with the necessary prerequisites to perform almost any task required of me."

Almost any task? Is that- is she sure that's not going a bit overboard? I mean, being a maid needs certain skills, but this sounds like she's overprepared, Makoto wondered. "Really? That sounds tough. What else can you do, then?"

"I have served as a bodyguard for employers in the past, I have served many banquets for wealthy clients across the globe, including our vault, and I have even been entrusted with protecting the Prime Minister at one point in my career, among many other things." She probably could keep listing more examples if she wished to, but she decided not to get distracted. "Please, if you wish for assistance, I will be more than ready to do so."

"The Prime Minister? Wow, that's really impressive!" An idea popped into Makoto's head as that word was spoken. Prime Minister. I wonder if there is still a form of government around somewhere, he wondered. It might not be likely, but who knows. If Rantaro said there were survivors, there's gotta be some forms of society left over. Maybe... "Dang... it's crazy how your talent is only recognized as a maid when you can do so many more amazing things."
