Doyin's pov

Riiiing riiing

"Oya oh. Get up your alarm is ringing" my mum says tapping me

"Ohoho mummy just snooze it. Five minutes please" i say turning away ready to go back to my slumber

"snooze ko. Common will you get up. You want to be late.  On your first day for that matter. I've already boiled water for you, go and bathe. I'm preparing breakfast"

Sigh. I can't prolong the inevitable.
I get up from my comfortable bed using my hand to cover my mouth as i yawn, grimacing at the stench of my morning breath. This is why i brush in the night but i was so lazy.

After i finish taking my bath, I pick up my ironed uniform admiring it. It was the most beautiful uniform I've ever seen. I've only seen uniforms like this in movies now i get to wear this masterpiece. Unlike the nonsense i used to wear in my former school

I squeal holding the uniform to my chest. Not only am i going to wear this, I'm also going to the best school ever. Everest high school. The place where middle class like me can only dream about . And now  my dream has come true!

Hi my name is Doyin Adeniran. I'm 16 years old. I'm the second  child of my parents out of three kids. My older brother is in university and my junior sister is still in primary 5. My mom owns her own salon and my dad sells imported gadgets from London. We aren't rich but my parents always made sure i don't lack basic necessities. I mean duh. They're my parents that's  their job.

Bet you're wondering how my parents were able to afford such an expensive school. Well they can't.  I was in my former school when our principal told us that Everest high school wants to give scholarship to the best five students, with the best essay. My best friend convinced me to attempt since he was. Yada yada. My best friend and I made the cut now I'm a proud student of Everest high! It's so surreal!

"Aunty come outside now! If you want to be late, i won't even let you because I have to go to the salon"
I roll my eyes and take my bag

Emerald's PoV
I don't even wait for my alarm to ring i get up from my queen sized bed ready to start my day at 4am

Usually other students wake up by 6 or 7 am but that's because they are all incompetent and lazy.
I have lots of preparing to do this morning it's a new term and everything has to be perfect.

After my thirty minutes yoga, i step into my bathtub filled with hot water and lavender soap and sink in. I need time to be mentally and physically ready to crush my enemies and everyone beneath me.

My name is Emerald Johnston. I'm as beautiful as my name. As expensive as the stone. If i look at you, count yourself lucky.  I'm 16 years old and I'm aspiring to be the next head girl of my school. What am i talking about? I'm already the head girl just remaining the formalities. Everyone in my school fears me and they also want to be me and why not?
My dad's a senator and we're stinking rich.  And I'm a famous YouTuber known for my ethereal beauty and riches. I have  never lacked anything well except from love and attention but who needs that when you can get the latest phone and most expensive food. I love food thank God for excercise or else I'll be as fat and shapeless as my maid martha.

After my bath i pick my uniform to see that the uniform is not properly ironed. There's a wrinkle under the collar. You can just imagine the arrant nonsense.
"Martha! Marthaa!" I yell. I don't care if it's 6am in the morning and I don't care if i wake my dad and his dumb girlfriend up

"Yes mistress" martha runs into the room with her head bending low.

"What the fuck is this martha?" I say walking to her menacingly  "I thought I said no wrinkles whatsoever so  what the fuck is this atrocity!" I screech flinging it on the floor

"I- i- i-" she stammers

" what is making my princess so angry this early morning" my dad walks in with his skank behind him

"It's this incompetent fool who can't iron properly. Daddy look at the wrinkle here"

"Is this what you woke us up for?" My dad's girlfriend asks

"Yeah like you have something important to do other than to spend my daddy's money. Why are you even here?" i snap back

"Emerald please it's too early for this" my dad sighs then turns to martha " and you! Can't you do your job properly common pick this shirt up and iron it well! Nonsense"

"Ye- yes sir"

"And what do you need the shirt for are you going out?"

"Yes daddy. I'm going to school we literally talked about this last night"

"Omg how can he remember, all your dad's attention was on me how would he remember?"  The skank giggles.

"Oh yes. My baby girl is in 11th grade now the next thing you know she's in university"

"I bet you can't wait to get rid of me daddy"

"Of course not my love. Come Elizabeth let's go and have breakfast now that I'm awake I'm starving " my dad says guiding the witch out of my room. She glares at me before smiling at my dad. Fool.

I sigh wait for nincompoop to  finish with my shirt so that I can get out of here
