- Imani
I entered the conference room and then took a seat next to my attorney. The room was freezing cold and the walls were painted a dull grey with a chunky mahogany stained table in the center of the room.
"The deal is eight to ten years, correct?" Ms. Joseph said clasping her hands together.
She was a thick white woman with brown almost red curly hair and dark brown eyes. She always wore a black, grey, or a dark blue pantsuit when I saw her and carried a black Coach brief case.
"That was the deal." Mr. McCoy replied.
He was a scrawny white man with black and silver hair that looked salt and pepper. He had a thick british accent and wreaked of coffee and cigarettes. He wore the same red tie with every suit and carried a food stained lap top bag every where he went, but he was supposed to be one of the best prosecutors in LA.
"What about Trey? How long does he get?" I asked concerned.
"His lawyer and I agreed to five to eight." Mr. McCoy answered. I smiled, glad to know that he would be out sooner than me. "One question before you leave, did Trey have any influence on you to commit the murders?"
"No." I said simply. I started to say something else, but Ms. Joseph hushed me. I did as she asked remembering that these people could make your words more malleable than rubber and then exited the conference room. I walked back to my bus and then took a seat two seats behind the driver. I looked out the dirty window in an attempt to take my mind off of the irritation in my wrists by the hand cuffs.

"Just come visit her one more time." Prodigy begged.
"No." I replied pressing play on my music. I pulled my Beats over my ears and bobbed my head to the music. I could see Ray Ray and Prodigy in my face moving their lips, but I couldn't hear them. I didn't want to hear them.
I had to fight this feeling of wanting to go see Imani again. She told me all that I needed to know, what other reason would I need to go see her?
Suddenly my Beats were snatched off of my ears and just when I began to protest, Ray Ray had me by my collar against the cinderblock wall. I tried to wiggle out of his grasp, but I couldn't find the ground with my feet.
"LOOK, YOU CAN'T SIT HERE AND ACT LIKE YOU DON'T STILL CARE ABOUT HER!!! YOU CAN'T ACT LIKE SHE DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU!!!! I SAW THE WAY YOU LOOKED AT HER!!! I SAW THE WAY YOU CRIED LAST WEEK!!! I SAW THE DIFFERENCE IN YOU AFTER SHE GOT PUT IN JAIL!!!! WHETHER YOU WANT TO ADMIT IT OR NOT YOU STILL LOVE HER!!!!!" Ray roared squeezing my collar tighter. "YOU CAN'T BE THAT HEARTLESS!!"
"What's your problem, bro?! She wasn't YOUR girlfriend! You didn't feel the way I felt about her!" I yelled back grabbing his collar.
"Nigga, she kept secrets from ALL of us!!! It wasn't just YOU!!!! All of us were in the dark about everything!!!" He screamed.
"You don't get it." I said as my chest heaved up and down. I saw fury grow in his eyes and he tossed me to the ground and the climbed on top of me as he began to throw punches.
Prodigy and Miles yanked him off of me and I jumped up, charging towards him. We toppled to the ground and I began to pound my fists into his mouth and chest angrily. He threw punches back at me even though there was blood streaming from his nose. All the anger we both held, was being released with each punch.
Carter and Kenneth yanked us off each other scolding the both of us. Ray Ray and I both were crying angry, hot tears. I instantly regretted beating up one of my best friends and I could tell he was too. I was to proud to apologize first, but something gave me the strength to speak my mind finally.
