"In the case involving Imani Gonzales and Trey Young, we find both defendants guilty." My heart sunk. Trey's head lowered and my back curved into a slump. I'm not too surprised, I thought mentally shrugging my shoulders.
"Due to the mental health of Gonzales, she will receive seven years with probation. And must receive psychiatric treatment. Trey Young will receive six years without probation." The Judge said before slamming his gavel against the wood. He exited the court room without wasting time and so did the jury. I turned to face the guys and my family and then wrapped my arms around my mother.
"Usted no grita, son usted?" I whispered in her ear as she rocked me from side to side. (You're not crying are you?)
"No, mi corazón. Trato de quedarme fuerte." She replied rubbing my back. (No, my heart. I'm trying to stay strong.)
"Te quiero, mami." I said looking into her eyes. (I love you mommy)
"Te amo tambien." She responded combing a stray hair follicle from my cheek. (I love you too) I looked at my dad who still had said nothing and swallowed.
"Adios, Papi." I said quietly. He looked at me and then turned his back to me. My mom slapped him on the back of the head and began to curse him out as they exited the courtroom. I moved over to Ray Ray, Prod, Miles, and Princeton.
"I guess this is it." Ray Ray said sighing.
"Yeah." I replied biting down on my lips. He wrapped his arms around me. I had never hugged him this closely before, but it was warm and comforting all at once.
"I'm gunna miss you, girl." He said kissing my forehead. It was kind of weird, but we were really close friends. No biggie.
"I'm gunna miss you too, Ray Ray. Visit me as much as you possibly can." I said moving to the next guy. He saluted me and moved over so that Prodigy could get to me.
"Hey chicken wang!" I shouted with a silly smile. He smiled back and wrapped his arms around me.
"I'll bring you chicken before European tour." He whispered in my ear.
"With hot sauce?" I asked laughing.
"You know it." He replied rubbing my back. I giggled and then pulled away. "I'll miss you, Manii."
"I'll miss you too, Prod." I said softly. He looked at me for a few more seconds and then moved over. Miles stepped up to me with his Kool-Aid smile and opened his arms wide.
"I'm gunna miss you the most, Miles." I stated laughing.
"Imma miss you too honey boo boo child." He replied using his ratchet voice. I burst out laughing and then enveloped him into one of the biggest hugs I'd given the guys.
"Be good." I said rubbing my hand over his hair cut. "You know you and Ray Ray do too much when y'all together."
"Aight I'll be good for you." He reposed as we did our hand shake one last time. He moved over and there stood Princeton. We stared at each other for what seemed like minutes.
The sound of his voice saying "friend" echoed in my mind. How would we hug each other in a "friendly" fashion? How would THIS remain platonic. All things we shared with each other, all the kisses, and cuddling? THAT would have to be deviated?! How does this mother fu--
"Guess this it." He said interrupting my thoughts.
"Yeah..." I replied faking a smile.
"I'm gunna miss having you around." He said smiling. HAVING ME AROUND?! I screamed inside of my head.
"Me too." I replied clearing my throat. Then we shared the most awkward hug I had ever given and received in my entire life. I just wanted to punch him right in the face.
