Chapter 5

JAKE POV
I searched around for July; I walked around this forest that was a couple yards away from the Candy Kingdom.

"Princess July! July!" I searched in bushes and everywhere. I looked in some trees as well. I decided to go further into the forest to find her. I kept sniffing the air for her scent.

OC POV
I heard someone walking towards me and I started to panic. WHY WON'T PEOPLE LEAVE ME ALONE. Then I realized it... I forgot my picture... how could I forget it?! Glob!

I saw that yellow thing, Make? I don't know. I quietly went from tree to tree to escape his search for me.

PB POV
"Why is everyone making such a big deal about this Peppermint Butler?" I laid on my couch in my lazy clothes as Peppermint made me tea.

"Maybe because they are technically still children, my princess. Aren't there other ways as well?"

"I guess so... Maybe I made a conclusion too quickly. I just don't want to loose the opportunity." I sat up as Peppermint Butler handed me tea.

"I say don't worry about it, princess. Not for a while. Let things settle themselves out."

"Yeah I guess so." I finished my tea in two gulps. "You know it's gonna bother me, right?"

He just chuckled and left.

OC POV
OH GLOB. I sat in a tree staring at the kingdom. I need that picture. I can get that picture. It will be worth it to get that picture.

I jumped down from the tree once it was night. The sky... it was so much more beautiful out here. I miss it from my window though.
Focus July.

I walked to the gate and knew it would be too obvious. I decided to head more to the castle while walking outside the wall.

My necklace glowed as vines grew up the wall and once climbing up them, I was in. I sneaked my way through the streets, alleys, and roads. I saw the castle still had a hole in that was being repaired. Some tall yellow things with wooden sticks for legs were preparing the wall.

"Hey you!" One of them yelled.
It's voice drenched with stupidity.

I was scared but I figured I should just accept it. I could always easily get my way out of it since that flower I grew was still there.

"Yeah...?" I walked up to them.

"You're pretty. Can you help us lift this?"

"No we need someone pretty strong. Not just pretty." The other guard said.

"Ooh..." The one who addressed me nodded.

A few seconds of silence.

"What's the difference?"

"Not sure."

I scooted past them and saw my picture. I grabbed it and made my way out. I continue back to where I climbed out and made the vines grow to grass to cover up my tracks.
Where to now...

I stopped.

I don't know.

I don't know my way home.
I don't know my way around here at all.

I sat down and started to cry. My tears fell onto my broken picture frame. I clenched my hands onto it and continued to cry.

"Well hello~" A old creepy voice behind me echoed out.

I turned around and saw an old man with a large white beard and a blue dress. Maybe a woman? "What do you what, lady." I said more agrassivly than questionably.

"I ne- WHA?! I AM NOT A WOMAN!" He put his hands up and they up sparked with blue icy likeness.

"Oh I'm sorry." I wiped my tears sniffling.

He put his hands down and they stopped sparking. "Hey what's wrong?"

He is interesting... Maybe that's useful. "I don't know how to go home. I don't know where I am at all. I'm lost and..." I started to cry a bit more and held my picture close to my chest.

He flew next to me and sat. "Hey don't get all spiced up. Tell you what. I got a nice comfy cell- I mean bed for you to rest."

I was questioning this situation. This world is so strange. I just want my house and my parents and forget all this happened. "You're not going to do anything to me are you?"

"What? No! Of course not! Hey what kingdom are you from."

"Does that matter?"

"...no"

He laughed and picked me up. He started to fly and gripping onto him I panicked. "OH GLOB OH GLOB. NOT OKAY NOT OKAY!"

He just laughed again and we landed in an ice mountain. There was a bed with weird Leopard sheets. A set of drums and a cell.

"I'm not going into the cell."

"Uh no. Of course not." He gave a nervous chuckle as he kept nudging me towards the cell.

"You're lonely aren't you?" I started at him.

"Hey, what?" His arms dropped and he looked at me. "I got... plenty of friends. I know all the princesses and I got Finn and Jake and my penguins." One penguin waddled up. "Gunther, we're friends right?" The penguin hissed.

"Yeah... definitely. I'm not sure about this situation and not sure how to feel about you."

"Hey!"

"I'll stay as long as you don't put me in the cell. I don't want to feel like I'm being forced to be here even though I am." Might as well let him think he's in charge.

"You are? Yeah. You are! I got you right where I want you!" He chuckled happily and went to his drums to play a weird quick beat.

I sat on the icy floor. It was cold and I wrapped my arms tighter around myself, my picture frame pushing into my chest. Shivering, I saw my breath turn into fog.

He slowly stopped drumming after he got tired and panted. "Pretty cool huh? I've been wanting to make a band and..." He stopped when we met eyes. "Are you cold?"

I nodded. He left the room and soon came back with a white fur blanket and gently wrapped it around me. I cuddled into the warm soft fur. "Thank you."

He didn't respond and sat on his bed.

We were quiet for a long time.

FINN POV
I stared out my window. The night sky was vivid and beautiful. The stars made a curling pattern like her-
Finn. Stop.

I shook my head.
"Aw jeez. Haven't I learned?"

I decided to have a warm glass of milk.
No milk in the fridge.
How about some-
Out of that too.
"UGH!"
I slammed the door shut and stomped off to bed.

I started dressing into my pjs when I saw something fly outside. It looked like a giant fat bird carrying someone or a dress. I shook my head and laid down.
"Your noggin messin' with you." I said to myself patting my head.

Jake came in later and kissed my forehead. I chuckled lightly at him as he was probably as tired as I was. He laid in his bed and emiditly snored off into dream land.

I closed my eyes and slept.

FINN DREAM
The grass was green.
The sky was blue.
She sat in the distance with no emotion.
I started to approach her, but she started to scream and my body was swallowed into plants and ice.

"Hoo hoo!"
I saw the cosmic owl fly by.

"Cosmic owl! Wait!" I screamed.

I couldn't see him. Then I was choking.

Her icy fist was choking my neck while her other hand made of plants restrained her icy hand. Her face was confused and evil.

"JULY!" I choked put as my dream faded away.
