My POV
The original plan was to enjoy the Harvest Moon Festival together and then go visit Pride so he could meet everyone. However a phone call changed everything. I watched Striker on the phone, curious to see what this client wanted. As Striker hung up the phone, he took a deep breath before punching the wall.
"Striker?"
"I'll do this alone, Darlin'. Don't need your hands getting messy with this." Striker looked to the side. Sometimes when things were slow at I.M.P I'd help Striker with jobs.
"What is it, Striker?"
"Please Darlin'." I know this is serious. Striker looks so defeated.
"Alright. I won't push it." Striker nodded.
"Darling, I don't think it will be safe to go to the festival this year. Promise me you won't go?" Striker held my hands as I frowned. The festival?
"But-" My shoulders slumped before I nodded seeing Striker's tense body relax softly. "Ok... I promise."

As I kissed Striker goodbye and waved him off, I watched as he left our home. Please be safe Honey.
I talked to Millie for a little bit, letting her know a change in plans on meeting Striker due to a sudden job. However it seemed that the Prince was inviting us to the Festival anyways so to say no to a Prince's offer....
As the day went by I grew more and more worried about Striker, wondering what job he took to make everything happen the way it did. And he hasn't even checked in yet... Though soon as I saw my phone light up with his name, all my fears dispersed as I answered the call.
"Oh, thank Satan you're ok."
"Darlin', I'm fine. Going under was just harder than I thought. I promise when I'm done with the job, I'll make it up to you."
"You better. When will I see you?"
"Shouldn't be more than two weeks till I come home. Hopefully just this week, maybe an extra day or two, just in case I need to lie low." Lie low?
"Will I see you at the festival?"
"Darlin', you promised you wouldn't." Striker's voice darkened.
"But they invited me-"
"Alright fine. I know how close you and your friend are." Striker's tail rattled in the background as he groaned grumbling to himself. "But don't try looking for me. Understood?"
"Alright Striker..." I pouted and nodded even though he couldn't see it. "I'm sorry, I was just looking forward on going with you is all."
"It's alright Darlin', just a lot of money we could use. Just remember my rule in case you see me, alright?"
"If I see you working and you're an asshole to me, just look at your eyes."
"That's right, Darlin', because I never want to lose you."
"Just be careful and Come back to me."
"Always do Darlin'."
~
"Mama! Daddy!" Millie jumped out the window, running, hugging them tightly. I smiled walking up a few seconds after and hugged them as well. After a few minutes of catching up with everyone, I watched Millie's parents beat up Moxxie. I walked over, patting his shoulder.
