An Autumn Symphony

Autumn is the time of year

When trees steal the show.

Slowly they begin,

Almost imperceptibly,

And then quite suddenly,

When the arctic wind

Brings the first night-chill

They burst with colour,

Intensity and majesty,

In an arboreal symphony.

Yellow, orange, red and burgundy

Their leaves glow under the golden sun

And flutter gingerly

Caressed by the gentle breeze

Of a glorious October memory.

They're not alone though.

Colourful birds aplenty keep them company

And sing them a melodic, avian symphony.

But the trees, they steal the show!

They simply glow!
