Weeks pass. You're passing the kitchen, and decide to listen to the conversations inside for a moment.

"Yeah. I just think it's good timing, with the kid and everything. I always planned to, to be fair."

"Yeah, definitely. Well, as long as it comes out 0f your funds and not mine."

You push the door open. Harry and Tony turn and stare at you for a moment.

"Morning, Y/N." Harry says after a moment. "We we're just discussing..."

"Football." Tony says. "Yes. Football. Balls and feet."

"Right..." you say, filling up the kettle and boiling the water.

"Did you sleep well?" Harry asks. You nod.

"Yeah, actually."

"Oh, good." He smiles slightly. You smile back. You keep eye contact until the kettle boils and you have to divert your attention to your tea.

"Hey, Y/N?" Tony says. "Make me one, seeing as you're up there."

"Oh, yeah, Y/N. Go on and make me one too." Harry says.

"Is Y/N making tea?" Robin sticks his head in the doorway. "Can she make me one too?"

"Oh, yeah." Shrignold appears next to him. "That would be lovely."

You sigh deeply and gather more mugs, making tea for everyone. You're finally about to sit down with yours, but Paige appears in the doorway.

"Do a favour for a pregnant lady?" She smiles.

You sigh, and make to get up, but Harry does instead. "It's okay, Y/N, I'll make it."

You smile graciously at him and sip your tea. It's going cold.

"Look at the time!" Tony says, not looking at Paige. "Welp, darling, gotta go to work." He kisses her cheek and leaves the house quickly.

She looks confused for a second. "Tony doesn't have a job." She mutters, and sits down. Harry hands her the tea. "Oh, thanks, love."

He nods and sits again. It's strangely quiet for a moment. Harry catches your eye and you exchange a glance.

"Beautiful day, isn't it?" Shrignold says after a good few minutes of utter silence. "Oh, dear, it's not a beautiful day." He sighs and gazes out at the sunshine. "How I miss the rain..."

"Rain is lots of fun." Paige replies to him. "I love sitting in the middle of the garden when it rains and contemplating how nothing I d0 matters and that I'm just one tiny human on a tiny planet in an enormous universe and how futile everything is." She sips her tea. "And when the rain goes on my face it disguises my tears."

"Paige, hon?" Robin says. "Get help."

"I'm going to pretend I don't hear you, Robin, as nothing you say interests me."

"That sounds like a lovely way to spend time." Shrignold says. "Mind if I join you next time?"

"I don't mind at all." She smiles. "In fact, it might be nice to feel lonely with another person."

They shake on it and Shrignold returns his attention to the sun outside with a far off look. "Well, I must return to my bedroom and make lists of things I could think of. Y/N. Join me. Please."

You glance at Paige. She motions for you to go with him. You decide to trust her and follow him.

"What's the matter?"

"Come with me, I'll tell you." You follow him to his room. There is a sign on the wall saying Worship King Malcolm. You don't question it. "Tony is going to propose to Paige!"

"What?"

"We have to watch! I do love a good proposal."

"How do you know?"

"Dear, I'm in a family focusing on love. I know everything." He looks int0 your eyes for a moment. "I could tell you some things about someone but that's besides the point."

"Someone?"

"Shhh. Another time." He grins gleefully.

"Okay... when and where is he popping the question?"

"Today. He's taking her out tonight to the forest. We'll hide in a tree and watch."

"What if we fall?"

"We won't fall."

Part of you doubts that but you go along with it.

You head downstairs and see Paige sat alone on the couch, reading War and Peace out loud. You go and join her, partly because you're confused why she's reading out loud and partly because her speaking voice is so nice.

"Hi!" You say.

"Hello!" She smiles.

"What are you doing?"

"Reading. They can hear you in there, you know." She says.

"Ah." You don't question why War and Peace is her book of choice.

Tony walks in. "Hi, darling. Ready to go?"

"Yeah." Paige stands up, stretches her back out, and takes Tony by the hand. They walk out together.

A few seconds later Shrignold grabs your hand and runs out of the door with you. You see Paige and Tony heading to the forest, Tony looking extremely nervous. Paige chats idly about paints, colouring pencils, and then about a nice scented candle she had seen in a shop. You head a few metres to the left so you can see them, but they can't see you.

They eventually stop in a little clearing. You and Shrignold climb up a tree and sit on a branch. They get out their picnic. You and Shrignold wait 2 flipping hours while they eat their food.

After a long, long wait, you're starting to question why it takes 2 people so long to eat a picnic. Finally, Tony starts talking.

"Paige?"

"Yes, my sweet?"

He gets down on one knee. Paige watches him, it takes a few seconds for her to compute what he's doing. He grins, taking her long fingers in his hand.

"Oh my god." She whispers, and begins to tear up.

"It's happening." Shrignold whispers to you. You glance over at him. He's grinning foolishly.

"Paige. I've been panicking all day about this, and yet, now I'm here saying it... all the words I planned on saying are gone." He smiles. "But, fuck it. I wouldn't have this any other way, Paige, because that's what you do to me. You make me forget my words, and then you give me the right ones."

"Oh my god."

"You have made me so, so happy. You're so wonderfully weird. You complete me, darling, you really do. I really want to spend the rest of my life with you." His voice cracks at this point, as he gets emotional as well. "Paige, will you marry me?"

"Yes. Yes, of course!" Her answer is almost immediate. Tony slips the ring onto her finger and pulls her into a tight embrace.

"And that, my dear, is how a good proposal goes." Shrignold smiles. Then the branch snaps and you both fall to the ground.
