There was a sea of Vampires that surrounded both Chrissa and Kandor. They all had the same dead, zombie-like glint in their eyes. As if someone were controlling them, as if they were underneath a trance.
"They're under a spell," Chrissa speculated, after waving a hand in front of their eyes. They stood tall, broad, and frozen like statues. The two of them had made their way out of the vents and into a large space within the cavern. They could hear Steven speaking to Michael from above, as they seemed to be up under some type of ledge.
"Quiet," Kandor ordered, when he grabbed her hand and pulled her to where they wouldn't be able to see them from down below. The dark haired girl looked down at their hands. His fingers were long, with rough palms against the soft of her short brown ones.
"I'm not a ragdoll," she said sarcastically, as she pulled away her hand. He scoffed with a hidden smirk, "sure you aren't."
Chrissa resisted the urge to punch him in the face and rolled her eyes. "Whatever. What are they saying? Can you hear?" She asked, in a low tone.
Before he could mutter a response, slowly, as if a domino effect, all of the Vampires sharply looked at the both of them in unison. The voices above them stopped. Kandor cursed below his breath. The blonde haired man from above had levitated downwards, and scanned the crowd. His lips rested into a dark smile as his eyes landed on the two of them.
"Hey babe, miss me?" He smirked, earning a silent glare from both Kandor and Michael. "How nice of you to finally come home," he said to Chrissa.
"More like the Underworld," scowled Kandor, when he glared at his brother. "Your presence was never missed." His strong voice bounced off the cavern walls and echoed throughout the room.
"Chrissa?" she heard Michael's voice speak into the air. Her dead heart fluttered at the thought of seeing him again. Just hearing his voice invoked emotions she thought were gone. She wanted to speak with him, but couldn't at the same time.
She uncrossed her arms and gave Stephen an annoyed expression, "you're simply disastrous. I should have destroyed you when I had the chance."
Stephen had pulled both Chrissa and Kandor up on the ledge where he and Michael stood by the force of his hands. Kandor tried fighting the power by trying to resist the energy, but was only left dumbfounded as his brother dropped the both of them onto the ground.
"Your energyfield is weak." He taunted, "quit resisting me and maybe you'll finally be at my level some day."Kandor then stood up in a Vampiric-like fashion, "If I wanted to be like you I'd be succumbing to a lifetime of misery," he snarled.
Michael rushed to Chrissa's side to help her up, but she flinched at his touch and absently grabbed Kandor's arm. She looked at him with cautioned eyes, "d-don't touch me." Michael's eyes darkened at Kandor's smug grin, as he relished being Chrissa's protection. When she noticed the exchange, she quickly let go of his arm and crossed her own.
"Now Christabella, we can make this fairly quick if you were to cooperate," said Stephen, as he stood on the ground. His eyes glowed red, as his dark cape stood out against his armor.
She stepped forward, "I'm not doing anything. You're going to hand over the rings before things get worse." Chrissa stated, as she tried to hide the fear in her voice. "Or I could cut you open and take your jewel," he smiled.
Chrissa stiffened, and touched her neck absently. She shook her head, "you wouldn't." Kandor's hands grew into hard fists as he shot his brother with a complicated expression, "I'm not letting him."
Steven clicked his tongue and snickered, as he motioned a gesture to Michael. He looked into Chrissa's dark eyes lovingly and hesitated. He looked up at the blonde man and shook his head swiftly, "I can't." He rolled his eyes, ignored the response, and pulled Michael with a magnetic force to his side. "You've made your choice. There's no going back."
