Prompt : Write a fic in which a character with chronic pain is exhausted (mentally, physically, or both) because of their condition
Chronology : Post-Seek Adventure ending (with Steph)
Headcanon : Steph has chronic pain, Alex also has pain issues (but that one is only mentioned)
Alex came back to her and Steph's apartment to find Steph still lying in bed. She knew of the DJ's chronic pain- It was something they bonded over as well since Alex had some pain issues herself after Jed's attempt at killing her- But it was rarely bad enough to where she couldn't leave bed for the whole day.
"That bad, huh?" Alex asked sympathetically, wincing as she saw a short burst of purple light up around the other woman, showing that she hadn't heard Alex come in. Steph turned over quickly, and the purple dissipated slightly, seeing that it was just her girlfriend and not an intruder.
"Yeah, sorry" Steph apologized, forcing herself to sit up despite the feeling of her shoulders burning in protest. "I know I was supposed to do the dishes and whatever, but when I woke up, I was in so much pain, and I-"
"Hey, hey" Alex soothed, walking over and sitting next to her on the bed. "It's okay. Can I help you at all?"
"Um..." Steph swallowed. She had a headache growing, so thinking felt like wading through tar. "Could you get me, like, Ibuprofen or Advil or some shit?"
"Of course" Alex replied with a smile, leaning over and kissing her on the forehead. "Anything else?"
"Cuddles?"
"Yeah" Alex confirmed, standing up and walking to the bathroom. "You just lie down and relax" she instructed as she searched their medicine cabinet for the bottle of pain meds. "I'll make us mac 'n cheese or something"
"You're the best!"
"Yeah, yeah"
