Prompt : Write a fic where a character has a pain flare-up in their back
Headcanon : Cogsworth has chronic pain
"Cogsworth!" Lumiere said with his usual flamboyance as he bounced his way towards the clock, who glared at him. "How are you, my friend?"
"I'm not your friend"
"Someone's especially crabby today" Lumiere commented, ignoring the offended whine that came from the other man. "What's wrong?"
"I'm fine" Cogsworth deflected. "Maybe I just find you annoying. Have you considered that?"
"No"
"What do you want, Lumiere?" the butler asked, growing more irritated by the second. Lumiere rubbed the side of his left candlestick against his chin thoughtfully, dragging out the time intentionally to mess with Cogsworth, who looked about ready to combust with anger.
"I want my best friend to tell me what is wrong"
"My back hurts" Cogsworth caved. "No doubt due to the curse"
"Or due to the fact that you're a cranky old man"
"What was that?"
"Nothing" Lumiere chuckled nervously. "Do you want me to rub your back?"
"And light me on fire?" Cogsworth scoffed. "I think not"
"I'll blow them out!"
"Fine" Cogsworth sat down with a small thud, crossing his arms. "Do your worst"
"That's the spirit!"
