I walked out of the gym,body sweaty as I wiped my forehead off with a towel. The yoga was very relaxing,but nonetheless very tiring and I couldn't wait to take a bath and have dinner,I hadn't finished my lunch.
I called Malcolm while I filled the bathtub,and he answered sounding like he was running from something,
"Akeelah,you finally got back to me. Well listen,I've found Jordan and I need your address so I can send you all the information I've gathered,he's in an orphanage here in Los Angeles,they're moving him in 3 months down state,so I think you need to hurry."
"Thanks Malcolm,I'll text my addy. If you can,can you get me adoption papers from that orphanage?I'd like to get this done as soon as possible."
"Well that's not part of my job description, but I'll do anything you ask m'lady- for some extra bucks" I chuckled,closing the tap as I threw my bath bomb in there,and it made some cute starry night patterns in the water- I'd be sure to thank Jaehyun for this. "Tch,always about the money huh...nah just send what you've gathered,and don't call me m'lady. Your service is highly appreciated" I laughed,dropping the call and throwing my phone over my bunched up laundry.

I was sat relaxing in the bathtub as the hot water massaged my aching muscles when Jaehyun busted through the door,huffing at the heap of barely there clothes as he folded them up hastily,putting them in the laundry basket. He sat on the toilet facing me,arms folded over his chest as he stared me down,
"You're calling your men in my house now?"
"Excuse you?"
"Don't excuse you me,he called you m'lady!"
"If your hearing is really so strong,why'd you jump over that whole conversation and focus on the nickname?" I asked without opening my eyes,leaning my head back.
"Because I will not have the mother of my pup going out with other men while she's carrying my pup!"
"Don't yell at me,I'm sorry okay? What I said early was mean and uncalled for,that's no way to treat a person-even if they frustrate me...it's just that,I'm too young to be here,I'm too young to be having baby daddy problems-hell,I'm too young to even have a child on the way."
"So that's what this is about?you don't wanna have my pup?"
"God,no. It's not exactly ideal,but I'd never wanna kill our child...I'm just, I'm- I'm sooo scared that history will repeat itself. What if I'm not good enough? What if I can't take care of our child and child welfare decides to take them away? I can't bear that loss again,it hurt so bad the first time...it's gonna hurt like a bitch this time, especially cause-cause this time,I'm the one who carried the baby...I'm scared,and you're not helping."
"I'm not helping?"
"Your constant yelling and need for control over everything, you've been calling our child a puppy!a literal dog! How am I to trust that you'll be a good father when you see them as nothing but a literal dog?...how do I know you'll let our child follow all their dreams when you can't even let me go to work?" My tears fell then,and I opened my eyes to see him opening the door,
"You're the one who thinks of my whole species as dogs and yet,I'm the bad person? Sure,blame it on the man...let me shoulder all the blame."
"You don't under-" he slammed the door shut,and I jumped onto my feet,wrapping myself in a fluffy towel as I said it-you don't understand.

I was in the kitchen cooking when they arrived,and I jumped into fight mode with a hot pan and a spatula in hand,scared shitless as 3 large shadows rounded the corner stepping into the living room,laughter loud and joy filled as their conversation was cut short by my surprisingly strong voice,"who are you?"
They turned around slowly,and a look of recognition crossed Dr Sanders' eyes as she smiled at me,
"Akeelah,it's so great to officially meet you." All three of them came to greet me with a hug,and I felt so short as both adults hugged me around the shoulders,the only one who made me feel tall being what I assumed to be the 10 year old,as she hugged me around the waist.
"Dr Sanders, what...what are you doing here?"
"That idiot Jaehyun didn't tell you we were coming?aish,please,call me Seo Yeon. This is my younger brother Min Ho and our little sister Lisa, we're Jae's siblings." I nodded,holding a hand to my chest to calm my thumping heart,
"Little one,chill. I can literally hear your heart beating from over here."
"That's not nice!" Lisa smacked him in the chest,coughs erupting from the man as he cried out," you're too fuckin strong for a five year old!"
"And that's a swear word, apologise!" Dr Sa- I mean Seo Yeon smacked the back of his head,and he looked to me with puppy dog eyes,"arraso,stop bullying me already. I'm sorry Lisa,I'm sorry Akee- hey,I'll just call you Bee. Get it? Akeelah and the bee? And you're as small as one?" I nodded,chuckling as he gave both his sisters a triumphant look.

Seo Yeon grabbed the spatula and pan out of my hand with an amused smile,"I'll take these. You really planned on hurting wolves with these?"
"Uh...well in my defense,it was a fight or flight response,I didn't even know you were wolves till you said you were his siblings." I mumbled,embarassed at the realisation that Lisa was almost as big as me and she was just 5.
Seo Yeon helped me prepare the rest of the meal as I explained to her why Jaehyun had left,and she face palmed as she said,"that baboya! I should just shift him off to South Korea and let eomma deal with him,but that would be too mean. He can't just come into your life and try to change it to his liking,you both must compromise something so you can both be satisfied,that's what relationships are all about." I nodded,plating up as she took the plates to her siblings,and when only three plates were left in the kitchen,she stopped me from going into the living room.
"What you said to him wasn't very nice either,you should apologize...Jaehyun,he didn't grow up like the rest of us. He was raised to be an alpha,to be angry,to kill,he was raised for war and dominance...our father didn't want him to be soft, so no endearments were used on him. I was there during eomma's pregnancy,and trust me when I say not even once did my dad call him his pup,it was always *the future alpha* or *the future leader*...he never told him he loved him,so that part of him has always been empty...you're the one Moon Goddess chose to fill that space in his heart,you're what's missing...trust me I know it feels unfair that you don't get to chose your own partner,but give him time and you'll see...he was made for you,the Goddess never makes a mistake,ever." She left me with that,and headed into the living room leaving me alone with my thoughts. I looked at his plate beside mine,and I got sad as I realised I didn't know if he'd eaten yet.
He walked in a minute later,taking both our plates to the living room wordlessly,looking pleasantly surprised to find his family sitting around the table,eating and laughing.
"Oppa!" Lisa flung herself at him,wrapping herself around him as he put our plates down and drew out a chair for me to sit,then sat down in his own chair once he was sure I was settled.
"Hana,gwaenchana?"
"Ne...I missed you,I don't think I like living with Seo Yeon anymore,she's mean."
"No I'm not! You just don't wanna brush your teeth before bed!" She defended herself,and Min Ho piped in with a smirk,
"No she's right,you really are mean,you took away my hoverboard!"
"Get your marks up first." Jaehyun glared at Min ho,and he huffed as he looked to me, "noona,you'll buy me a new hoverboard right?" My eyes widened as everyone turned to look at me,and I lifted my hands in surrender with a shake of my head,
"You heard your brother," the brother snickered, and Min Ho wiped a fake tear as he feigned hurt,
"Ya! Bee! I thought we were best friends" we all laughed at his dramatics,a sharp pain hitting my heart as I remembered how happy my own brother would be to be here,and I suddenly didn't wanna talk anymore. Jaehyun turned to look at me as the sharp pain hit,his eyes slightly wide- had he felt that?

After taking Lisa to bed,he walked in,throwing his shirt to me as I pulled it on,comfort immediately engulfing me as I got in bed. "So you're not gonna talk to me?" He shook his head no,and I got so mad I threw a pillow at him,he turned wide eyed at the assault,his cheeks flaming as he pursed his lips,"then get the hell out of here! Or I will." He looked at me long and hard,then shrugged as he slammed the door shut,
I cried so hard that night I knew my eyes would be swollen when I woke up.
