Chapter 8: Talk?

"WHAT!? FOSTER?" she yelled, then she pulled over, "jay we need to talk about this!"

"I know I know" I said quickly

"let's get back home first, and then we can talk about it" she sighed

We got home and started talking, "alright, talk" hailey said

"I don't know how to put this, I just feel like I- we should protect her" I corrected myself "she's been through alot hails, and she's s too young for that, and" I paused "I feel like we have a connection" I shrugged, she probably thought that last point was stupid to be honest,

"alright" she sighed, I got excited "let me think about it" oh...

"OK" I answered, this is better than nothing, but I can't get my hopes up,

It's been a few days, and hailey still hasn't given me an answer, I'm getting kind of nervous, I feel like she's stalling so she doesn't have to say no to me.

We got back home, and I put all my stuff on the night stand then basically fell flat on the bed, it was a long day, we got a pretty bad case, "jay" hailey interrupted my thoughts,

"what's up?" I turned to face her,

"let's do it" she nodded,

"do... What?" I was confused,

"let's Foster y/n" I jumped out of the bed

"REALLY!?" I held her shoulders

"yes" she laughed, what a good way to end this bad day...

Honestly after I left my horrible house and father, I've been feeling much better, Im back into skateboarding and basketball, and for the first time in a while... I feel... Happy.

School has also been pretty good, I do really well in science and math, I hate pe though, so yeah.

Anyway I got ready for the day, went to eat breakfast, grabbed my ball and went out to the court to shoot some hoops, I didn't have anyone to play with, so I just practiced my shots, after about 30 minutes, I went back to the Foster home, and took a shower.

Now that I think about it, I haven't been to the firehouse in a while, so I left again and started walking towards the firehouse, I'm really hoping that's they're actually there because I'm pretty sure they have different shifts or whatever.

Anyway I got there and went in side and saw Stella, "hey Stella!"

"y/n!?" she walked to me "whats up!?"

"nothing much, what about you?"

"not alot going on around here either, one sec, lemme get herrmann, hes gonna be really happy to see you"

"alright!" I said as she walked off, there was nobody in the common room, until Stella came back with herrmann,

"y/n!" I got up and walked over to him, "how you doin' kid?"

"I'm alright, sorry I haven't come by in a while"

"don't worry about it, we're just glad you're here now" he smiled, and I smiled back at him.

"so... Where is everyone?"  I asked

"oh, they're all in the bunk room" Stella replied,

"oh ok" I paused"I should probably get going then"

"no, come on stay here a bit, you can sit with us in the bunk room" herrmann offered,

"why not" I shrugged, I walked to the bunk room with them and when I went in everyone was just laying down on their beds, "I know its early, but it's not THAT early" I told Stella and herrmann, they laughed,

"guys! Look who's here!" herrmann told everyone, some of them sat up, and some were still sleeping, Kelly and matt came out of their offices,

"we haven't seen you here in a while kid" kelly said,

"yeah Ive been a bit bussy" I answered

"doin' what" matt asked, and I saw herrmann shoot him a look, telling him to shut up and stop asking questions,

"well, I've been focusing on school, and I got back into skateboarding and basketball"

"wow you do all of that?" kelly asked,

"well yeah I guess" I shrugged my shoulders.

I had alot of fun at the firehouse, but its time to get back, "alright guys I got to go, bye!" I said while heading out

"bye!" they all waved at me. I got bad to my room and fell on my bed, wow I. Am. Exhausted, I decided to go to sleep, even though its still a bit early, but I'm really tired.

I wake up, and stay on my bed, I stay like that for a few hours until the lady that works here opens my door, "someone's here to see you y/n"

"Who is it?"  she just shruggs and leaves, I went downstairs to see hailey and Jay,
"oh, hey guys!" my face lights up, I'm actually really happy to see them, I haven't in a while.

"hey!" jay replies,

"hey y/n" hailey says once I get closer.

"what are you guys doing here?" I ask, even though I'm happy they're just here,

"well we were wondering if you wanna go come out with us, we can go get ice-cream, or do whatever you want " jay answerer my question.

"sure! Let's get ice-cream!" I said.

We went to the same place we went to the last time, we were eating our ice-cream when hailey started to talk, "so... Y/n, jay and I wanted to... Talk to you about something" hailey said as jay nodded,

"talk?"
