The rain was heavy and it didn't seem like it was going to stop. It had been two days, taking breaks of a couple of hours. The sky was gray and did not bode well.I had been sitting there for about an hour, looking at the clouds and the various drops of water that ended up on my arm, since the window was open.

In my hands I held a cup of hot chocolate.I loved the smell of rain and the freshness it gave off, but this one was different and not at all fresh. It was June, so it was strange that it rained so hard and for two days in a row.

It seemed that the other inhabitants of the area also understood this, since they were all locked inside their houses. Each had barricaded their homes to prevent the water from entering. The schools had been closed, since the water had found a way into them, and the students took advantage of it to study better for their final exams. No one left the house, not even when it stopped raining. There were puddles of water everywhere and there was no way to walk without ending up in one.

The streets were empty, even the usual stray cats were gone.Everything was deathly silent and lurid gray.Until in the middle of that silent sight, I saw you, alone.

I didn't know if the drops of water that fell from your face were from the rain or your tears and, worried (and lowkey, because I wanted to know the gossip) I yelled at you through the window

"Hey Mina!"-You turned around with curious eyes and looked at me curiously."Do you need something? Come in!"

"N-n-no"- you said trembling with cold or rage (maybe both)- "I'm fine"-

"If you don't go in, you'll freeze to death, and unless you're a penguin, I don't think you'll find that so nice"- I said with a smile on my face.

With a little shyness and nerves, you approached and I opened the door for you to enter my house.

"H-H-Hello"- you said trembling with a voice so low that it sounded more like a shriek"Hello" - I replied with a warm smile. -

"It's good to see you again, despite the bad weather. May I know what you were doing walking alone in the rain, or should I assume you were trying to have a "main character" moment walking under the rain?" - I said in a funny tone, although all this gives me a very bad feeling.

"mmm... it's nothing, don't worry"-

I looked at her curiously, obviously not believing one bit the words that came out of her mouth. But I didn't know you and I wasn't going to force you to open up to a relative stranger.-

"Do you need me to call someone? Your phone must be soaked, can I give you some advice? Put it in rice ;)"- I said. As much as I talked and talked (action obviously caused by nerves and avoiding the awkwardness of the situation) you stayed still, static, looking at a fixed point.- " Mina, can I ask you a question? "

" You already did it."- Oh, it can't be, could this girl be serious?, i thought.

"Can I ask you two questions?"

"You already did them" - you answered seriously.

Hahaha, very funny, surely today you had clown flakes for breakfast or something.

"I'm going to ask you now, because I see that today you're a comedian."  I warn while I smile."Today you left class with Sana, was she with you?"

Hearing her name, you winced and lowered your eyes back to the carpet.

"Emmm... No"- you said without sounding convinced.

"Seriously?"

"Yes, sure. Why would I lie to you?"

"I don't know, tell me. Why are you lying to me?"

"Honestly, and with all due respect, I don't think my life is your concern" your voice was getting louder and yet it still sounds soft.

"OH YEAH ?"

"If you don't believe me, what do you think happened?"

"I think Minatozaki picked you up in her car, they had a fight and she took you out of her car, no matter if you got wet or not. Am I wrong?" I said almost shouting.

Your eyes met mine and your face reflected an expression of disbelief. Even so, you looked down again and almost as if in a whisper you said:

"You're wrong, Sana is not like that, she would never do that to me"

"And that mark you have on your wrists?"

" I have to go"

"Mina... I know we don't know each other that well, in fact we've only met a couple of times, but let me help you, if your girlfriend hits you, or she hurts you, tell me, I can't bear to see injustices!"

"I have to go"  you repeated softly without losing your composure.

" At least do you want to be my friend? I want to know you better."

"Well... one more friend wouldn't hurt, but promise me you won't invade my privacy anymore" you said, maybe as a way to avoid me or to change the subject.

" I promise"

Honestly, We had a mutual friend, Jihyo, who has arguably become my best friend. I know that you and Jihyo are also close, however, your group of friends has never coincided with mine.

"This is going to be very interesting" i thought.
