One week.
A week had passed since we became "friends" and yet, despite sitting at the same table at lunch, we hadn't said a word to each other.
Was this the friendship you had promised me?
-" Tzuyu!, Mina!, Dahyun!, Momo! and... Sana! What a surprise to see you here! What are you doing?" asked Jihyo curious to see how the named approached the table.
"Hey, I was talking to the others and we decided it was time to meet your other friends"replied the shortest of them (obviously not as short as Chae's ), she looked nice, with some unusual vibes.
-"Oh... of course Dubu, sit down"she answered not so convinced. "So... umm... well they are Nayeon, Chae and Jeong"
-"Nice to meet you, I'm Dahyun" the girl replied, and these are "Momo, Tzuyu, Mina and Sana" she said in a courteous tone and the others bowed.
Making eye contact with this Sana, I have to admit that I didn't totally like something about her. She had a smile on her face, but instead of looking friendly or natural, she looked...forced. What would I have to hide behind that mask? What secrets did that innocent smile hide?
My thoughts were interrupted when everyone sat down at the table and, of course, Minazotaki and you were in front of me, holding hands. A scene, which, if it were not for your leg moving nonstop, would have been believable for any viewer superficial.
"Hello Nayeon" you said dryly.
"Mina, hello" - I replied.
"Oh. Did you know each other?" Sana said curiously. "Why didn't you tell me?" she snapped.
"Eh? I don't know, I think I forgot"you answered looking at me.
"No no no, Mina and I only met once." Sana smiled
"Heehehe, oh, okay, sorry. Nice to meet you btw, I think we'll get along very well ;) "- she said
"Yes, total" - I faked a smile.
Honestly, I really liked Jihyo's friends, after class, we went out to eat and talked, we met.
And so it was, day after day, week after week. Everything seemed normal.
They were my first big group of friends, and I was genuinely happy. Although something was missing...
Whenever I felt euphoric, I automatically looked at you, and your brown eyes that reflected concern, loneliness... were trying to speak, ask for help, but for some reason, you wouldn't let them.
That, Minari, bothered me a lot, because my happiness would not be complete without yours.Who would have thought that I would be willing to do ANYTHING to get the sparkle back in your eyes.
