Chapter Nine~ Fifteen minutes of pain instead of fifteen minutes of fame

I tucked the phone between my ear and my shoulder. " And he just left! I don't understand him at all. " I said with an exasperated sigh. His voice started muffling back. "Wait, hold on a second Landy." I turned off the water and stepped away from the dishes. "Yeah?"

"Do you really need to call me Landy? I said that you like him, don't you? I mean you've been going on and on and on about him for.... Hold on... 2 and a half hours."

That question took me off guard. "Haha what? You have got to be kidding me man. " I did a nervous laugh and hopped up on the marble counter.

"Are you biting your thumb? You always do that when you lie." I could hear a smile creeping up in his voice.

I stared down at my phone in shock and pulled my nub out of my mouth. I always knew that Landers had X-ray vision.

"Oh stop it Landers. I was not. " I flipped my hair over my shoulder and started back up on the dishes.

" Kay-Kay we both know you do. Why deny it? I know you're probably saying that because of Colton. "

He's right.

"No, I'm not denying anything. Swear!"

"If you say so Kaylee. But if you really are denying it, it's only going to get worse. But hey I have to go pick up Rory from daycare. I'll see you tomorrow!"

"Thanks for listening to me blabber my mouth off. You're the best Landy. Bye!" I pressed the end button on my phone before he could nag me about the dang nickname again.

I tossed my phone onto the island in the middle of Avery's kitchen. Where is she you ask? On a dangerous mission to the grocery store of course. As I was finishing up the dishes, I heard a loud crash at the glossy front door. Hm I guess Avery is back sooner then I thought she would.

I made my way over to the front door when I heard-

"Fuck how am I gonna clean this up?"

Wait I know that voice.

I quickly opened the door, which made Jayden crash onto the front room carpet.

He rubbed his hair and stared up angrily." What the hell was that for? Oh- OH its you." He messed up his already perfectly tussled hair. I just wanted to run my fingers threw his soft, chestnut hair.

Stop it Kaylee, focus.

I snapped back into reality, took a deep breath, and stood there with my arms crossed.

"So you've reduced to stalking me now? Wow that's pathetic." I pushed and put my arms on my hips.

"Are you gonna help me up, or what? Your floor isn't so comfortable." He started to get up, holding his back for support.

"Here" I outstretched my hand. " Psh my god you really are fat Jayden. "

"Shut up, I am not!"

I heaved him up with a grunt in my throat. He stepped away from the front door and plopped down on the carpeted steps.

I rolled my eyes and leaned against the wobbly banister. " If you're comfortable, can you finally tell me what your doing over here?"

Jayden leaned all the way back and plastered a smirk on his golden face. " Calm down babe, I just wanted to talk about the project. My parents are pissing me off."

I sighed and thought to myself. Hm let Jay fail and get all the points? Or be a good person and help out. Decisions decisions.

Jayden looked at me with an impatient grimace and rolled his amber eyes.
