This is another novel by Nicholas Sparks called A Walk To Remember. It follows a young man named Landon who eventually falls in love with a girl who has cancer named Jamie Sullivan. Jamie believes in God but she is also very practical about her beliefs. Jamie likes to study stars and galaxies with Landon. Jamie loves her father and her mother died when Jamie was young. I don't know how. Maybe cancer? But Jamie's story is short-lived. Jamie ends up dying from cancer and Landon keeps his wedding ring from Jamie on even after her death. It is a love story. But it is a strong love story. Landon had lost his way and then he found Jamie and Jamie saved Landon from going down a wrong path in life. Landon had said Jamie had saved his life in the end because her belief in God was so strong. But Jamie was smart about it which I liked. Jamie believed in God but Jamie also knew that there was a science, too. Landon's friends make fun of Jamie for believing in God or a "higher power." Jamie is constantly made fun of for her beliefs and one day at school the students get together and make a really cruel joke because Jamie identifies as a Christian faith and most of them are non-believers and salty about Jamie's beliefs. Landon's friends end up injuring another student by having them perform a dangerous, hypocritical joke which I thought was unnecessary to do. Landon learns from this, though, when he meets Jamie and they begin to fall in love gradually over time. Jamie's dad is a pastor and Landon thinks very little of Jamie's family because of them being connected to a church and Jamie still being in school. Jamie tells Landon she isn't applying to college because of Jamie's illness and how Jamie is declining. Landon's father pays for Jamie's in patient care at the hospital when Jamie is first admitted to the in patient care unit for cancer. The cruel joke they played on Jamie wasn't my favorite scene to watch in the movie version. This scene IS NOT IN THE BOOK AT ALL. The scene where they make fun of Jamie. It's Landon's "friends." Who do. I TRIED LOOKING FOR IT BUT IT IS NOT THERE. THE MOVIE MAKERS MUST'VE ADDED THAT part in the film. I read the book on my Kindle and it's a FAST read. It was the only book I downloaded on my Kindle device. I really wanted to read it on my Kindle and I have a few other books I will review, too. Also if you don't like my reviews because they're too honest I'm not apologizing for my opinion on my books. This is how I feel about them. And I wanted to review some of these books. I met an author once who was really nervous no one would read her book. She ended up running out of the room in a panic and I was asked to keep the book. It was free and I couldn't turn it down for some reason.
