Her legs begged her to run, to hide, to at least put effort into something! But not one single muscle could muster the courage to move. It was as though the harsh reality, "game over," had suddenly hit her as she stood firm, appearing ominously pale with the company of sustained denial.
How did he find her this fast?
Hana was glaring daggers into his soul, not frightened by his presence in the slightest. She felt the urge to tighten her jaw so severely that she might actually crack her teeth just from watching him stand there, initiating the impression of both harm and mischief.
Fortunately for him, if she had been able to touch him, his body would have already been ripped apart ages ago! Oh how entertaining would that have been for her!
"It's been awhile." He begrudgingly muttered.
Numbed to the core, Manaka released a quivering sigh. Regardless of the fact that his face was hidden behind an intimidating orange mask, she could somehow sense him smirking beneath it.
"Why so frightened? I'm not here to hurt you." He then vanished and reappeared behind her like a glitch. "Just to take you with me, that's all."
She lost her composure before she could even fathom the threat, blackness instantly devouring her vision right after. The last thing she briefly managed to grasp, though, was being tenderly bound in his hold and sensing the wind pick up and prickle chilliness across her pale skin.
He carried her to a place not even the gods above can locate it.
However, unbeknownst to him, a hidden figure happened to successfully retrace Manaka's scent after losing track of her, immediately diagnosing both of their presence on the spot. Kami bless the Inuzuka Clan and their sense of smell!
To his dismay nonetheless, the Akatsuki member swirled in the air in front of his eyes like a distortion, causing his mouth to drop from such an unprecedented jutsu with Manaka in his clutch, soon ceasing to exist without a trace. The ANBU agent promptly returned to the village to report, attempting to reach the Hokage before dusk.
Meanwhile in Konoha, when Pain appeared and practically destroyed half of its land, fatally wounding the citizens without a care, it didn't take long for him to finally confront Naruto, who had been his target since his brutal plan got constructed. He eventually withdrew upon acknowledging that his goal was not based on the concept of peace, but a worthless dead end. And thanks to Naruto, the Leaf Village restored it's peace once and for all.
For the duration, being swallowed by a coma, Tsunade was in no position to play the Hokage role at the moment. So instead of receiving the horrid message from the ANBU agent she hired to spy over Manaka, her apprentice Shizune did, and that poor woman flipped out of her mind!
Shizune's skin was slithering with goosebumps as she tried to keep her rapidly beating heart at bay.
'How did it come to this?! First The Leaf Village, now Manaka?! Oh, once Lady Tsunade awakens, she is not going to let this slide so easily!' Within the tent, the dark-haired apprentice sat next to Tsunade's motionless body on the floor, her legs folded underneath her, nibbling on her thumb's nail.
A swish suddenly erupted midair, indicating that a figure has allowed herself into the tent. Shizune straightened her posture.
"Sakura..." she muttered.
The kunoichi could instantly tell something was wrong by the look of her disturbed appearance. Shizune was drenched in sweat and seemed paler than usual. Not like that sight was something new to her. Anyone who works or resides in the Hokage office is constantly in the state of agitation.
