Jin hated his new house; it smelled like dirty feet and some gross flowers from the old Head Omega. She didn't like that she was being kicked out of her house, but since her mate was dead, she didn't have much choice. She was going to be an issue; Jin knew it. But for now, he has to get this ugly ass house ready for their pup that is only weeks away from being there. The healer said it can come any time now, and the more he stresses, the sooner it will be.
All of their baby things were back at their old home, but Jimin and Jungkook took several volunteers to bring everything there. Yoongi and Jimin had been staying with Mandy in her old cabin in the woods. No one but those two had even seen her since she woke up three weeks ago.
"Baby, you need to calm down. Do you want the pup to come today?"
Jin sighed as he sat down on the couch. "No, I just hate everything about this house. It smells bad, it's ugly, nothing makes sense in the layout, and the furniture is literally the worst."
Joon wanted to chuckle at his adorable mate but didn't have a death wish. He's nesting, hardcore nesting. But since he has none of his things, it's stressing him out. "I know, and I promise we will make this house your dream home. It's much bigger; we have more rooms to fill up if you want."
The Omega glared at his Alpha, "I know what you are doing, but it's not working. Do we have to stay here?"
The Alpha plopped down onto the couch, laying his head in Jin's lap and laughing when their pup started kicking the side of his head. "Watch it, pup," he playfully growled. "We don't. I could hand the pack to another Alpha, and we could get back home."
"Do you want that?"
Did he? He didn't know if he was being honest with himself. Yes, this pack could use an Alpha like him, one that wasn't corrupt and would put the pack's needs ahead of his own selfishness. The healer and some elders have been filling him in on things this pack had been subjected to. "I'm not sure; I know they need me; we could be perfect for this pack. But the 10 of us, that's what is most important. If they don't want to stay, then we don't stay."
"I think we need to talk to our pack. When the guys get back, we need to have a meeting. Regardless, we can't go anywhere until all the pups are born and big enough to travel. As much as I hate this house, I'm not putting our pups at risk. But I'm worried about the girls. They might have grown up here, but it wasn't exactly happy memories, and then what they went through last month."
Joon didn't want to think about it. They had been gone less than two weeks, but all three of them were barely recognizable by the time they found them. They had lost weight; there were bruises and other cuts all over their bodies. Kris' white hair was still slightly stained red from all the blood. "We'll talk to them."
Kat looked at the healer, worry all over her face, as she played with her hair, trying to calm her nerves a bit. Hobi was nosing at her neck, trying to help calm her down. "Are you sure?"
The healer huffed, "I've been doing this longer than you've been alive, yes, I'm sure. If I were you, I'd be more worried about what your pups are going to be before I'd worry about anything else."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm surprised that Alpha never said anything to you. The way you talk about her, I know she's still into getting her hands on any book she can. That grumpy Alpha comes every other day and gets new books."
Kat looked at Hobi to see if he knew what the crazy old lady was talking about. He shook his head no before turning his attention back to the healer. "What did she not tell us?"
"What happens when two Alpha's mate and have a pup?"
"They have a true-blood Alpha pup," Kat mumbled.
The healer hummed, "Okay, well, have you ever seen two Betas mated and have a pup together or two Omegas?" They both shook their heads. "No, it's always been a mix, never the same rank unless it was two male Betas or two female Omegas, and never a combo that could have a baby. And if two Alphas could make a true blood Alpha, then don't you think the same would be said about two Betas or two Omegas?"
The Betas gasped at the same time. "Our pups are going to be true blood Betas? What does that even mean?"
"That, I'm not sure. I could tell you the rumors I've heard, but there hasn't been one in over 100 years and even longer for a true blood Omega." She sat down and took a sip of her tea. "I've read that true blood betas are more Omega and Alpha-like. They can't be controlled by an Alpha's voice, except for a True Blood Alpha. They are stronger but without the extreme emotions that Alphas have. They are more nurturing, but without the emotions that haunt Omegas."
"It's like the best of both worlds, all the good parts without the bad parts," Hobi whispered in awe. "Our pups are going to be unstoppable."
"And that's why it's so scary," the healer added, "wolves that can only be controlled by True Blood Alphas, which there's only one alive right now. But if two True Bloods mate, all their children will also be True Bloods. So if your pup and Mandy's pup, if she ever has one, mate, no matter the rank, they will be True Bloods."
"We could have a whole pack of True Bloods," Kat giggled.
"Calm down," the healer chastised. "This isn't necessarily a good thing. There's a reason why we don't allow the same ranks to mate. The only reason they allowed Mandy to mate is because they wanted a True Blood they could control. Your pups could be in danger."
