Of course the alarm does blare and his previous groans of pleasure are now that of annoyance. I slap my hand down on the stop button and try to slide out from under him. His grip only gets tighter, bringing my bare body to press against his.
"I have to get up" I whisper gently, blowing on his ear, tickling him. I smile triumphantly when his arm moves to scratch his ear, I quickly roll away taking the blanket with me leaving him laying naked on the mattress.
He grumbles loudly sitting up, moving the pillow from behind his head to cover his crotch. Silently he shimmies over to the clock "who the hell gets up at 5:30 in the morning"
I peak my head out from behind the bathroom door "I already told you, first day" he closes his eyes and slams dramatically back onto the bed.
I laugh as he quietly sulks "look, I need a shower and get ready, but there's food in the fridge and if you want to wait I can make you some eggs" this causes him to smile.
"You need some company" he winks cheekily at me, standing up and throwing the pillow back to the head of the bed.
I grin and nod "you'll have to be quick" our laughter dances off the walls as he joins me under the rainfall of water.

"Okay, I mean it this time, you have to go" he huffs but nods, kissing me on the cheek before putting on his coat.
I walk him over to the door, watching as he steps out then turns "goodbye, Sunshine"
"Goodbye Derek" he smiles, seemingly happy that I remembered his name. My eyes follow his back until he turns the corner and then only once he's gone do I make a move to grab my jumper.
Despite my lack of money, at one point I almost bought a car, a yellow beetle with flowers on the wheels. Instead I made the decision to buy a pastel yellow bike with a brown wicker basket on the handles. It was better for the environment and technically counts as my daily exercise.
The ride to Seattle Grace hospital was nice. Surprisingly for its reputation, there was no rain and it was cool, not cold. I chain my bike up to the rack outside and make my way through the glass hospital doors. Luckily, I was early enough to stop and grab a quick coffee before making my way up to meet the chief.
