"So good luck on your date." my mother said through gritted teeth as I walked out the door. "Mom, I'm 15. I'm old enough to date." I rolled my eyes. "Well have fun and be home by 9."
If she thinks I'm going to have frozen yogurt from 4 to 9 then she's crazier than usual.
I saw Ryan's car pull up. He had a casual black pick up truck. I hopped inside and we greeted.
"You like look nice." he said as he turned the steering wheel. "I'm not nice right now, I've had a terrible day." I put my hands over my eyes. "Hey hey hey, we're here to have fun, don't think about your day." he put a comforting hand on my shoulder and then back on the steering wheel. "I guess so, so to Bucky's Frozen Yogurt?" "To wherever you want."
We got a small table in the corner of this classy establishment.
"So, tell me about yourself." he asked. "What do you want to know, I'm not really that interesting." I shuffled in my seat. He gave me a flat look, "Just tell me your interests." "Well, I like photography." He nodded and ushered me to continue. "That's about it." "You don't have any friends you hang out with?" He spooned his yogurt into his mouth. "I had a friend, two actually. But they weren't really friends."
Lies, they were my best friends.
"Oh, well have you ever had your first kiss?" He asked casually.
This question startled me enough to cough loudly and pat my chest. "My first kiss?" I said quietly. He twirled his spoon around in his fro-yo and ushered us to leave. We got up and walked outside in the humid summer afternoon. "Your first kiss, have you had it?" We sat down on a bench. "Sure I did."
More lies, nope.
"You did." he said more like a statement. "Is that hard to believe?" I questioned wisely. "What's hard to believe is your acting. Tell me the truth." "Don't make fun of me..." I continued. "You've never had your first kiss." he answered for me. I covered my eyes with my hands and put my feet on the bench. He took my hands away from my face. "Neither have I." he answered.
He dates all the girls but yet he hadn't had his first kiss. Shocking...
"Well then we will have to look forward to that next time. Goodnight." I got up and started walking away. "You don't want a ride home?" He pleaded. "But then I can't make a dramatic exit." I finished and walked away.
I finally got home at 7:30 and my mom was shocked. Surprising that she thinks frozen yogurt would take 5 hours.
I ran up to my room and all I wanted to do was think. Maybe Ryan is using me for some reason and if he is, I need to find out that reason.
