It seems like this movie gets discussed a lot and I don't really think I have a lot to add. The odd little animated things knock the pacing off track and the movie is overall fairly strange and trippy. Still I think I overall like the movie, Godzilla gets a lot of screen time and Hedorah is a memorably strange creature. Plus as a sillier Showa fan of the series I enjoy the demented flying scene as a source of comedic material.
Hedorah is often mentioned as one of the most powerful enemies so it's kind of interesting to be reminded that he didn't start off as such. The first battle with Godzilla he looks kind of pitiful. Though he definitely makes up the difference with some transformations.
It's not a favorite to rewatch but yeah, I still say I'm in the camp that likes Godzilla vs Hedorah more than I'm put off by it.
