[FIN / PART 1] - Bumblebee x Optimus Prime ( + Short Stories).

The Holiday Break // Mini #1

No Ships!!

This is the first mini-story of my new series! I hope you like it as it's a situation I've thought of before but never ended up adding it to the main story. Here you go c:

Characters featured: Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Miko, Jack and Ralph.
Characters mentioned: Arcee and Bulkhead.

Story:

Ratchet's POV-

It was nice and quiet in the Base. Arcee and Bulkhead were on a mission to intrude and collect Energon from an abandoned Energon mine that the Decepticons forgot about. Optimus was reading some old scripts and I was at peace. All was a perfect volume for me to work given the tools I had to work with, until a yellow and black custom muscle car came flying in at high speed and squealed to a stop, burning rubber as he did. Not only did Optimus seem bothered by this sudden volume shift but I was really not pleased to see Bumblebee being this obnoxious. And worst of all, the Humans were here. On a Monday!

"Shouldn't you all be at school?" the medic spoke with much displeasure at the sight of them.

"Nah, it's School Holidays. You're stuck with us for a whole 3 months Ratch!" Miko replied, attitude in her voice and she walked over to the stairs. The medic looked shocked after hearing the response. Optimus only resumed his study without a single word.

"A-.. 3 months?!" Ratchet echoed with an unhappy, surprised voice.

"Yup. More time with the bots." Miko sounded excited. For all we know, she was probably referencing to Bulkhead.

The medic was baffled, taken-a-back. He had no words for this.
He'd walk towards Optimus, walking past him and gesturing to Optimus to follow him. And he did.

Optimus's POV-

I could hear a mech walking over to me and when I peaked to see who it was, it was Ratchet gesturing to me to follow him somewhere and I did as he requested. He led me back into the hallways, out of sight of the others. I could see Ratchet tensing as we walked.

I asked without any further hesitation, "Are you alright Ratchet?"

Ratchet would only mumble in response.

"Ratchet please, speak louder I cannot hear you." I'd calmly tell him.

The medic then looked at me, and I was half expecting him to cry from the way he was moving. He'd take a deep breath and...

"WHAT ARE THEY DOING HERE?!" Ratchet would burst!
"Wha-" I tried to speak but I got cut off.
"HOLIDAYS?!? WHAT ARE HOLIDAYS!?"
"Ratch-" I got cut off again.
"3 MONTHS!! I CAN'T DO THAT! I CAN'T DEAL WITH MIKO'S NON-STOP BLABBERING FOR 3 MONTHS OPTIMUS!!" he'd continue.
"Ratchet!" I had to raise my voice regrettably.
! That got the medic's attention.
. . .
I'd sigh, "Ratchet please, try to calm yourself. You're yelling and raising your voice when I am right here in front of you," I'd pause for a little before finishing, "Besides, this is the perfect time to get to know them more. Wouldn't it be useful to get to know more about Earth and its inhabitants?" I'd stop.

The medic only looked at me with wide eyes, as if still baffled that I had risen my voice at him.
He'd then look to the ground, slumping his shoulders. He'd open his mouth to speak but before he could, Bumblebee came around the corner carrying a confused but concerned face.

||' "Jack, Miko, Ralph and I were all curious. What's happening? Why's there yelling?" '|| Bumblebee would beep and squeak in our direction.

"It's alright Bee. Ratchet was panicking a little earlier but it's all okay now." I'd give the scout a calm, gentle smile.

||' "Alright then. I hope you're okay now Ratchet." '|| Bumblebee would beep one last time before leaving us alone.

I'd turn back to the medic who's looking at me with guilt and sadness in his optics.

"Ratchet?.." I'd question. Before I could say much else, I was attacked with a hug from Ratchet! I was a bit surprised by the sudden act from a bot I least expected to hug someone, to where it took me a few seconds to finally hug back.

"..thank you." I'd hear a soft whisper in my audio receptor. Ratchet let go and then left. Meanwhile, I was still a bit shaken from the sudden hug and I blinked a bit before shaking it off and returning to my work, I carried a smile all the way back.
