[FIN / PART 1] - Bumblebee x Optimus Prime ( + Short Stories).

Nemesis who? // Mini #9

Bumblebee's POV:

||' "Nemesis?" '|| I'd beep,

"I'm formally known as Nemesis Prime, that's my full name."

||' "Nemesis- ...what?!" '||

"I know, I know. There's only Optimus "the last of the Primes". Well, I'm still here. You seriously haven't all forgotten about me, have you?"

||' ". . ." '||

"Really, the silent treatment?" he'd speak but would quickly grow a smile and scoff, "You giving me the silent treatment actually seems fitting!" he'd say before bursting into laughter.

||' "Hey! Says the one who's just a voice. At least I have a body and free will." '||

"Whoever said you have true free will? What about that one time Megatron took over your mind and body? If you have so-called "free will", why was it so easy for you to lose control?"

||' " . . ." '||

"More silent treatment. Again, seems fitting for you." he'd snicker before continuing, "I'll wake you up now, have fun!~" He'd snarl, chuckling at the end.

I held my non-existent breath as my surroundings wobbled and deformed. Before long, I awoke in the Base with Ratchet to my side.

"...Seems likely." Ratchet would mutter to himself.

||' "Whhhh..at seems likabl- likely?" '|| I'd slur my beeping speech without meaning to. How did I even manage to do that??

! !
"Bumblebee, you're awake! Good." Ratchet would spark up, looking relatively pleased.

It's strange. I had never seen Ratchet like this before. Sure, there was that one time with Optimus but for Primus Sake, we'll get to that later. He seems genuinely happy that I turned out seemingly okay from... whatever happened. Wait- what.. happened?

||' "What... happened... to me?" '|| I'd hesitate to ask the infamous question.

"You passed out very suddenly, you've been out for quite some time." He'd pause to sigh, "Optimus tested positive for Dark Energon Infection but I've managed to clear it out, hopefully anyway."

||' "Is he alright?!" '|| I'd panic and in my panic, I nearly fell off the berth. Luckily though, Ratchet reacted and caught me before I could fully roll off.

"Bumblebee please!! Be more careful! You're in quite a frail state!" Ratchet spoke harshly, but he didn't yell.

A long streak of silence fell over the Base once that was over.

||' "Hey Ratch?" '||

sigh, "What?.."

||' "Where's everyone else? They're usually around here, aren't they?" '||

"They're on a mission to rescue a potential ally. An Autobot escape pod landed near the shore of Chicago, away from human civilization so no need to worry about them being spotted." He'd stop. I'd take a breath to speak but got cut off, "And I also told Optimus to try not to take too long as the escape pod crashing down into Earth's atmosphere no doubt attracted lots of human attention."

I'd slouch back onto the berth, questioning things I'd been told.

"You okay?" is a question I didn't expect Ratchet to ask.

Startled, I'd reply ||' "Y-Yeah, all good." '|| as I faked a pretty convincing smile.

Ratchet would stare at me intensely before responding, "I can tell something isn't right. When you grow up with a bot like Optimus, it becomes pretty easy to tell when a smile is fake. What's wrong?"

[What does he mean by that?? Does Optimus regularly use a fake smile, or is it genuine?]

||' "Uhhhhmmmm... what were to happen if I say... I'm not comfortable talking about it?" '||

"Very well. Tell me when you might be ready then."

[I honestly wasn't expecting /that/ response, that's for sure.]

. . .

"You'll stay at Base for as long as I need you to."

||' "What-! ?" '|| I'd argue,

"No. I will not deal with your attitude. Optimus has given me permission for this. You are my patient, I am your doctor. I will not let an unhealthy bot risk their life, thank you."

I'd shake my head and give a small smile,

[Nope, still stubborn.] I'd think.
