𝗬/𝗡'𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝘃
And I ran. I ran the fastest I had ever done and I didn't even believe that my legs could bring me from stealing food to a new street, I never saw before, in just some seconds.
Unfortunately, I couldn't take in the beautiful stores vanishing on my sides, because I was followed by two police men, trying to catch me.
The cold air blew my hair all around my face and hindered me to see correctly. Breathing was horrible at the moment, as I was a little bit sick and taking small, rapid breaths felt like killing my throat.
My heartbeat raced in the speed of me eating my stolen food, when I was starved, although I absolutely knew that it wasn't the best idea to inhale the last food I had.
Coughing my way forwards, I dared to take a short look behind me, realizing that I cut off my pursuers at the last corner.
"Argh-" A groan stopped me from running further. Well actually it was a woman, I had bummed into. Looking up at the figure, I tried to calm my heartbeat. She had those big, parakeet green eyes, which glinted down at me in confusion but also a hint of interest. Her hair was two-sided. One half in pitch-black, the other in a snowy-white color.
"Darling. What are you up to, running that fast to even oversee me?" A husky voice filled my ears and even though I really wanted the time to focus on the boutique besides me, which had a wonderful red dress in its display window, the unknown woman's inspecting gaze didn't let me.
"Oh- you're a mugger, huh?" A smirk decorated the corners of her lips, as she connected the dots so well together. I didn't know what to do but I felt like lying to this captivating female would led to much worse things than a stay in prison, which was why I nodded.
"You know, I used to steal from people too. It was a fun time but this now is much better." She definitely acted with no rush at all. Her voice sounded calm and even a tiny bit welcoming for me. "Above all, I had two kindly but chaotic friends at my side, who would help me." The woman grinned, as she recalled the happenings in her past.
I actually was about to say something but that needed to be postponed, hence the two policemen showed up around the corner, running like there was no tomorrow.
"My god. Either you aren't just a little, harmless mugger, or they are completely overdramatizing this." To my surprise the woman handled a mugger completely different from all other people, I had met on my journey of stealing. She seemed to be negative minded when it came to the hero of all humankind too. I liked it.
"It's just a little food! Let the woman eat!" She shouted at the men, who rapidly shortened our distance. "Come on, darling." Her hand placed itself onto my shoulder, as she nodded for me to keep going. For whatever reason, our touch gave us an electric shock.
We shrugged and glanced at each other for some seconds. "Go!" The woman yelled after she came back to realize, who was trying to catch me. She pulled me back from my thoughts as well and I began to run. This figure was something, I knew I couldn't get out of my thoughts for a very long time.
I just hoped the policemen would not go after her for letting me go but she certainly looked like she dealt with them before and that not just one time.
After vanishing around an other corner, I finally cut the men off and could try to breath normally again. Smiling, I wandered through the streets like nothing happened, although I had one thing in my mind. This woman.
Eating my egg sandwich, I kindly got from a store, I strolled to my tiny apartment, I could only afford by mugging. Before I could reach my door though, a man with black hair and black glasses appeared in front of me.
"You." He inspected me looking me up and down. "You wanted the job right? Well you got it. You will stand at 8 am right outside. Got it?" The man explained and let me have no chance to agree. "Good, see you then." The figure pressed a card into my hand and with that he was gone behind a corner.
I turned to watch him go, while my mind was trying to understand what just happened. I hadn't sign up for any job in the last few weeks. Nowhere. He was probably confusing me with some other girl, that wanted the job.
Looking at the card, I breathed out of excitement. "No freaking way." Those words left my mouth, before I happily went into my apartment and let myself fall onto the bed, which certainly wasn't the softest. I held the card above my eyes to see it and just smiled at it.
A dream was coming true. Not the right way but I absolutely needed to take this job, even though someone else would be the correct owner of this card now.

The next day came by quite slowly. I couldn't sleep due to the thought of me actually working in this store, just because someone made a mistake. It definitely excited me.
As it was time to wake up and think about the first outfit, I would lay onto myself for this job, I rushed to the closet and picked out an October-ish style.
The top was a long, wool sweater, held in a light brown color. Over that I put on black dungarees and my legs were kept warm by a see through pantyhose. I was absolutely in love with this style of mine and because of that I was calm to finally step my way out of the stealing and right into the career world.
When I realized, that I didn't even need to look at the card for the place, I grinned to myself. I knew exactly where it stood and let passing people turn their heads.
Grabbing a scarf for my neck, I walked out the building and went the direct route to my future workplace. Arriving in front of it, I looked up in astonishment.
"The house of Baroness." I uttered, before the door swung open and the man from yesterday welcomed me. "Judy! Come on in. You're surprisingly right on time." He vanished into the company and left me alone standing outside.
"Judy?" I questioned and grinned, as the realization hit me. That must be the womans name, who actually would stand here now. Poor Judy.
The man shouted for me once again and I began to rush inside, right to his side. It was an amazing hall, which I looked at. Big and elegantly lit. An enormous chandelier garnished the ceiling and I could see creative designs standing everywhere.
With happy eyes I let my gaze wander around the rest of the hall, while the unknown man walked up the stairs. "Judy! You won't see this entry for a long time, if you don't stop being so slow." He exclaimed and ordered me to him.
Silently, I ran upstairs and inspected a new side of this kind of mansion. Big green doors blocked the passage from the hall to the working station. Even though they had glass inside of them, I couldn't see anything interesting. "Now. If you would excuse me, I need to help the Baroness. Your only task is it to sew something breathtaking together and to have it ready at the end of the day." He glanced into one set of helpless eyes.
I knew the theory of sewing but I didn't own a machine to sew, which was why I got quite nervous now that it was official that I was working here.
"You do know how to sew, correct?" In his face appeared a concerned look. I nodded slowly and rapidly his concern vanished.
"Great. I'm sure you will find the fabrics you need for your creation. Don't forget to try it on the mannequin." The black-haired man made sure, that I understood all that and rushed out the hall. He acted almost like his life depended on me performing amazingly.
Sighing, I laid my hands on the doorknobs of the green doors and swung them open. The room, which opened up to me was loud. All the sounds of hundreds of sewing machines went into my ear. The rushing sounds of high heels on the floor and especially the shouting for fabrics gave me a blanket of goosebumps down my back.
I walked in and let my eyes wander around the crowd of nervous people. Bringing my feet in front of each other, I started to stroll down the stairs. Unfortunately, I stumbled and made one hell of a noise.
However, no one seemed to care about me being new, until one of the workers picked their head up and analyzed me in a very uneasy way. The females hair color was dark red and black glasses decorated her little nose. Her eyes widened as she gazed at me for some seconds and her questioning wrinkle on her forehead vanished.
I had the feeling that she knew me.
