"You two have made us proud, Tay and New, I hope you two keep on doing so."

I was so happy tonight...

Especially when I heard those words that I was yearning to listen for years,

And that too, with wide smiles on their faces.

I had never felt this happy before in my entire life.

I thought that I had finally done something that had actually made my parents proud of me.

I thought that... That finally... I am equal to Earth in their eyes.

I take in a silent shaky breath, blinking back the tears, trying to focus on the road instead.

I actually believed those words of theirs...

Until tonight too, the attention was given to Earth.

"A penthouse in Nine One Hannam building in South Korea, a countryside estate in the United Kingdom, your own private jet and last but not the least, a two weeks trip to Indonesia."

These words constantly ring in my ears ever since I've heard them.

I take another silent yet shaky breath, my chest feeling tight and heavy.

It isn't like I am jealous of him that he is a star that gets to shine all he wants and has all the heads turned to him.

But yes, I do envy him.

Since I started developing memories, I remember he always was the centre of attention.

Of both mom and dad.

Every little thing he did was celebrated.

Climbing up the staircase all by himself without ending up wounded.

Coloring animal books, even if he used the wrong color.

Drawing trashy pictures like kids that age used to do.

Greeting people.

I knew how to do that too... And at some things I was even better at then- then why was it that Earth got all the love and affection from mom and dad and not me?

We are brothers, I know we don't share the same father but we have the same mother.

Why was it that when I threw a tantrum I got scolded but when Earth did mom pampered him?

Why was it that Earth never had to do a thing and he had mom and dad wrapped around his little finger when I'd worked so hard to get my parents attention but ended up getting nothing?

Mom wanted Earth to score good grades in school.

I always observed her at the dinner table gently reminding Earth to study hard so that he doesn't have a problem picking a major.

And also I observed how she stopped when Earth would start fussing.

I thought that if Earth wouldn't do it then how about I do it.

I unwillingly reel back to a memory when I was in tenth grade.

"Mom! Mom! Look! I came in second in class!"

Earth, who was in the last year of middle school, was jubilant and jumpy that day.

He had first time scored a position.
