Basically, Denki Kaminari is an Electric eel too afraid to say hello to other merfolk for fear of hurting them. In case he one day does meet them, he's keeping safe things they've lost and making sure he knows whos is whos.
Mina is a squid who has lost her scallop shell necklace
Kirishima is a shark who lost his shark-tooth necklace (because why not) and his pet rock
Sero is a stingray with a collection and habit of losing funny rings
Both Bakugou and Midoriya are regular old Merman. the feisty Katsuki lost his notebook; while Midoriya lost one of the rare human action figures he found on the surface.
