Singh walked into Barry's lab. The young CSI was working on his microscope. He was so concentrated on his task that he didn't notice his superior waiting on the doorstep.
- Nice catch, Flash ! Singh congratulated suddenly.
Barry jumped on his feet and turned to this intruder. For a speedster, the move was slow. But for a normal person, it was very fast. Barry's face relaxed when he discovered it was only Singh. It took him a few moments to understand why his superior praised him. The footage running on his computer screen helped him remember he had, or The Flash had saved the day earlier.
- Oh thank you Captain, Barry grated. Or should I say Chief. Because you're the Chief of the department now.
He let his voice shut down while he progressed in his sentence.
- You know you can call me David, Barry ?
- Yes Sir.
Barry grinned.
- You need me for something ? Barry asked, with a forced smile.
But he didn't take the risk to add the title he always added politely. Singh smiled. This kid, who was no longer a kid, would always be clumsy but lovely.
- I need you to explain something to me, Barry.
- Everything you want, Sir.
Old habits would never leave you.
- What is it ?
Singh took a deep breath.
- Superspeed ? Now it's something normal. Time travel ? I get it. Multiverse ? It's harder but I have admitted it too. But !
As Singh dramatically paused, Barry frowned. Since his former immediate supervisor had told him he knew about his secret identity, the Central City's vigilante had to explain to him every single thing that happened since he became a superhero. But Barry didn't see where Singh wanted to bring him.
- But an evil version of you ? That ? I can't imagine. It's too much for me. How can you, Barry Allen, be evil ? You were just told that on Earth-Two, where me and all your heroic friends were evil, you and Iris were still the good guys ! So how is it possible ?
Barry burst into laughter. He hadn't expected that at all !
