Him: if it weren't for the other 2 guys
Him: Would I have been the one?

You could've made me drip coffee
A drop of bittersweet
A fruity note of care
A milky dollop of what's good for me
A rich hint of more to come
Finely ground me in reality yet

a touch too late

But now that I've dropped one friend with benefits
Who wasn't much of a friend or gave much benefit
Should I leave you some space in my cup?
I'd hate to make you second choice
You deserve better than that

Yet I'd like to surprise you with my mouth closing against yours
Even if kisses never do anything for me
Just to see your reaction
Just to check if your insides share
the same darkness as the outside

Stroking your cheek
Fingers brewing over nameless tendons
Stirring my lips over that taut stretch of skin between your neck and shoulder

Ah, your skin
I won't say you're the colour of darkly roasted espresso
Two shots of creamer mixed to go down easier
(much easier than that man)

But that I know you'd taste of sea salt from your sweat
Sea foam dribbling down my chin when licked clean
Your hard-won tan the shade of the earth swirling to a stop
Or sand buried twenty thousand feet underwater
And I'd like to be buried under you just once

Even if that makes me the waste extracted out of the pure that's left when you drip coffee.
